Working at Dufferin Aggregates has been a frustrating experience largely do to management practices. Communication from leadership is inconsistent, and decisions often feel disconnected from what’s actually happening on the ground. Employees are expected to meet high demands, yet there’s limited support, unclear direction, and little recognition for the effort put in daily. Morale across teams tends to be low, with many colleagues feeling undervalued and overlooked. Concerns raised to management are frequently dismissed or met with vague responses, which makes it difficult to trust that improvements will happen. While the job itself has potential and some coworkers are great to work with, the overall environment is held back by poor leadership and a lack of accountability. Until management becomes more transparent, responsive, and supportive, it’s hard to see this as a place where employees can grow or feel genuinely satisfied

Over all the the company tries its best to be a good corporate citizen and benevolent to its employees. Good at training and providing the proper equipment to do your job safely. A certain culture of respect exists where no one gets upset or excited if things don't go as planned. They have been good at leaving me alone to do what is necessary to get a job done if things get complicated (ie Work more hours). 
Unfortunately a top down management approach has been creeping in lately where they seem to want to interfere more with the mundane day to day operations. It's too bad, because they seem to be missing the bigger picture, like keeping customers happy and not making them jump through hoops just to do business with them. As a result, the site I am working at is closing because of lack of sales. 

Great place to work depending on which site you are based out of. Some positions are very stressful and some have very long hours. My hours were 11 hour days, 5 days a week and sometimes Saturdays. My supervisor was very good and looking back, I should’ve stayed in distribution. The wages were good and most of the people were good. I learned a lot there and was very thankful of the experience. They were very good at involving all employees in training and safety courses as well as Microsoft office upgrades and their own software training. The benefits were good and covered almost everything. The dress code was casual and there is nothing more to say 

Well established and strong business based job security in its class. 
Very safety minded and strongly enforced work culture. 
Positive and supportive team and coworker atmosphere among lateral peers.
Decent/satisfactory wages and benefits for a competitive market. 

Site specific management could do with better organization and implementation of regular jobs strategies and long term execution and viability. 
Notably poor professionalism in regards to personally sensitive HR matters. And interpersonal favouritism with wilful exclusion of specifically disliked staff members.

Look else where, Terrible management !!! Only a few good people work there. Not a very nice place to work at all, only good thing is Friday when you get paid...
Quick training by trainers (20 yr old kids) whom shouldn’t be training Anyone, especially on Large equipment.

Man I loved my time at dufferin Aggregates the culture was great they have great diversity in co-workers. Management worked hard to get where they are at. Also weren’t scared to get their hands dirty if they had to help. I really regret messing up my time at Dufferin (came in late during probation period a couple times). It is not day to day back breaking Grindy work very laid back everyone’s there to help no hires. Free golf and Canada wonderland days GREAT UNION. 

Very straightforward tasks. Coworkers are easy going. Management doesn't seem to understand what goes on onsite. Very safety oriented company. Good benefits and pay. Hours are long but the overtime is well worth it.

My job at DFA was the plant guy, I made sure the portable plant ran smooth and efficiently with minimum downtime. The drive was the worst part because it’s just over an hour each way, the crew I worked with was amazing and will help anybody succeed. 

Horribly treated by management. 
No support.
Family comes last
Make eye appointments on  your own time
Lucky to get your legal breaks in a day. Get ridiculed for your looks and weight by people in postions that shouldn't be.

I worked at the Milton location was the best job I ever had. Seasonal work until you get some years in there but worth it benefits and pension like no other. Everyone there is easy to get along with my biggest regret is leaving this place.
