A Typical day at work would look like: scheduling, inputting numbers into kaya, time cards, emails, coaching, implementing new ways to do takes/contest to increase teams excitement. Ensuring compliance + policies are being followed, training, organizing, filing, everyday operations such as counts, investigations when needed. Returns, selling, meetings/ 1on1's, ordering supplies, handling customers complaints + getting back to customers on voicemail. Customer orders, ensure breaks are being taken, covering call outs for your store and others, ect.

What I learned is not all who lead can manage and not all who manage can lead. And it is up to our management/higher up team to help those individuals grow.

Workplace culture: There is definitely opportunities but I think it has gotten a lot better. Team bonding outings, is very important and the team also enjoys the company parties. I think manager + asms dinners are also just as important so the leadership team can also build connections outside of their team. 

The hardest part of the job would of course be having difficult conversations. Ensuring compliance and laws are being followed. But I also think it can be the pay, for some of us it is difficult to feel value in your work when you see your paycheck. especially for salary workers. Yes , there is tips however not all stores make a large amount to be considered an added income. We give our team, our position, and company our full availability and hard work, But still cannot afford basic living/ paycheck to paycheck.  I highly appreciate my pay and what I have but this is my honest feedback.

Most enjoyable part of the job: The team, reps, the lovely changes in our H.O. support, community inclusion, events, PK sessions. 

I actually really did like working here in the beginning. It’s super dependent on who you manager is. When I started managing is when everything went downhill. There’s no proper training, communication is horrible and you can tell stores are treated differently. They give you no motivation to actually want to work hard for them and even if you do there is no recognition. They make a big point of internal growth being important but they 9 times out of 10 go with an external candidate. Pay is bad and the bonus structure is a scam

I had the honor of working at Dutch Love for over 6 months. In that time, management proved how incompetent they were. Employees had to suffer through the summer in an environment so hot that customers who only came in for a couple of minutes were complaining, and when asking for air conditioning we were told they were "looking into it" with no results. You get underpaid with no benefits to be treated poorly by management. There is no room for growth in the company unless you want to do 10x the work for $1/hr more. Horrible place to work. 

Worked for about 3 months. As soon as I got the job, no supervisor was welcoming. There was an already established clique that was unable to open their arms or eyes to newcomers. The company itself is run terribly, managers are lost because they strive for unity, but administration restricts it. 
Unions were being talked about, and the main coworker "quit". 
Please don't invest your time. They do not care. 

Management made job significantly harder then it had to be, passed up on opportunities to improve the business when recommended by people actually on the floor and in the midst of everything. Redundant and nonsensical initiatives, seemed like someone with zero business sense was pulling ideas out of their you know what to implement. Great co workers and work environment. Easy going job that payed well for what it was (Retail Service)

Very cliquey with little support from management

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
This company is fully in it for the money, and has no care for their actual employees. Their management also fuels cliques forming which fuels a toxic work culture. HR couldn’t care less.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Terrible management, lack of communication, lied too then let to for missing a shift i was never scheduled for. This place is so unorganized. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Cannot just say one thing, the entire place is stressful

The store has a super chill vibe. I love the plants and decorations. It really makes our customers enjoy their visit, we get a lot of compliments on it! We can get busy but the customers are all really friendly and tip well. I always have fun joking with the other staff and love talking about weed with them!

Loved my time at Dutch Love, they put trust in their employees and it really pays off. You get to really connect with LPs and the cannabis community at large when working here.
