Had the pleasure of working with alot of great people, some the best Ive ever met. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND ILL MISS YOU XOX There is definitely room for movement within the company. More or less a professional atmosphere but laid-back and fun also. It definitely takes a special kind of person to master the daily demand of the workload. I can say both departments I worked in were a lot of funto be a part of, actually looked forward to going into work everyday. Until my employment was wrongfully terminated (non-unionized) I thought it would have been my forever job. However, knowing the amount of dedication, hardwork and how much of my unpaid free time I willingly gave to my work and to the company for almost 2 years. Still wasnt found to be important enough or of any asset to the company! There is definitely job security if you know or are related to the right persons within the company which will grant you an untouchable status to act and carry yourself anyway that you want. Personally, my experience working for EQ3 ended with extreme disappointment and a downgrade of respect for the company as an employer. They pay those who are the heart of the company (production warehouse) the least and those who promote the company (office) the most and wonder why their warehouse employees have no motivation to do overtime or take pride in their work to avoid simple errors from reoccurring! There is a alot of work to be done if wanting to achieve full success! They just continue to focus on the wrong parts of growing a successful buisness without first listening to what their clientelle finds most frustrating about shopping with them and fixing those inconveniences above anything else. 

Pros
- decent pay
- access to Herman Miller product

Cons
- As you move up in positions you typically get paid less because you are taking on more responsibility resulting in less selling hours therefore less commission
- HIGH levels of inequality, men there make more than women (specifically men in the company are offered 7% commission and no hourly wage, where as women are paid hourly + 1, 1.5 or2% commission)
- Lack of commission structure therefore leads to extreme bulling at the workplace
- Employees get promoted based on time at EQ3 (resulting in uneducated and unfit management with zero managing skills)
- Terrible Customer Service (do not allow associates to be invoiced in service process, when clients come back into store there is a huge disconnect)
- Canadian company with ZERO commitment to recycling (throws out defective products in the trash can out back, could be recycled or donated)
- Complete and utter lack of employee management at a store level (both Toronto locations)
- Manager avoids customer calls and issues, sometimes for days

Advice to Management
- A turnover of a whole store staff in 1-2 years is not normal, especially when it is an ongoing cycle
- There are books on management that can teach you how to effectively deal with situations that arise rather then staying out of them

If you’re seeing this, this is your sign to stay away from this company. In the few years that I worked for EQ3/Palliser there have been numerous mass layoffs (more than ten people at a time), the closure of all their US stores, the massive launch and failure of a new brand of furniture, and the closure of several Canadian warehouses. This is a company on the brink of collapse and it’s evident. There is no job security, as there is no discrepancy with who they lay off. Every day working here was full of uncertainty if that would be your last day. The store management tries to have your back but is unable at most times because the executive team is out of control and cannot maintain the current business. It’s all a big yikes! 

Pros - colleagues and pretty work space, working with different clients and sometimes having fun projects that allow you to use more learning and tools to achieve the best design plan
- good hours for showroom 10:00-6:00pm

Cons - low base pay with only potential to make commission if you can hit your goals that are quite high which is not much unless you can hit your doubled percentage (most of the time is unattainable without promotions which still does not guarantee) 

- can be really slow most days with expectation to make goals which can be hard to stay motivated 
- seems there is a wide gap between managers to head office in regards to influence, concerns being voiced and no changes ever being implemented to better support the backbone of the company (sales consultants) 


The company is unorganized, and chaotic.
Ordering systems have major bugs, and no IT department to correct them. 
Large company ran like a "mom and pop shop"
Management has shady practices. 
Canadian based company, and advertise that Upholstery is all Canadian made, except they have recently outsourced production to Mexico, and staff have been instructed to continue to say "Made in Canada"

Overly Competitive, and HIGHLY sales driven. Management is confused, and is focused mainly on image, not on Customer service.

The showroom has 3 floors as well as the office on the 4th. It takes a lot to go up and down 8h a day but is worth it with all that they sale. Installers are very nice, and respectful to the staff which makes the environment more joyful. 

As it is a sales associate job, it is very competitive and feels like everyone is hunting for customers and sales. 

Management should allow more meetings to learn about furniture and accessories to provide customers the best experience with the best information.

I have been with EQ3 for some time now and I am fully on commision which at times has been rewarding but as of lately the company is loosing trust from customers regarding fabric leather delays and given a solid 5 leather options to choose from when re-selecting. This place has become a joke and an embarrassment to what it should be.  No support when orders are canceled and the returns fall on the sales people and art left dealing with what is basically doing the role of customer service and being paid minimum wage. 

This was one of the worst places to work at! The work environment is very toxic and you can't trust anyone you work with. Everyone is so competitive when it comes to meeting targets and getting as much money as they can that they start stealing other consultant's orders and putting them under their names. Management is extremely condescending and rude. You receive little to no respect and are bad at communicating. The targets are sometimes unachievable if there are no sales going on. 

Toxic work environment rewarding problematic employees and punishing the ones trying to meet standards 
Poor and inconsistent management who do not take concerns impartially and are more focus on profit than employees wellbeing 
No training whatsoever so ever your thrown a pile of SOP’s unclear and expect to apply them by the letter 
Avoid this company like plague 

I worked at EQ3 Burlington a little over a year and it was not so good. Very slow paced, employees steal deals, manager does nothing about it. Strict dress code, People who have been hired quit within the week because of how poorly manager treated staff. commission is an impossible target to hit most months. Upper management doesn't care about retail employees.
