A typical day is get the job done. Sorting soiled products are handsorted from a conveyer belt into bins of the type of linens that need to be laundered. Carts of linen are dumped  onto a ramp that then feeds the industrial washers.  When it is cleaned it is then fed in industrial driers. Then it again takes a trip down a conveyer which is pushed into large clean bins that are  taken to the floor where some linens are hand folded, hung, packed into bags. Various other types of linen  are fed into machines that automatically folded. All laundered product  goes for another ride down a conveyer to be placed on carts for orders going out in the shipping area to semi trucks and delivered to  facilities  throughout  Southern BC, Okanagan and Shushwap areas. That being said there are many positions to be a successful team to get the job done. There is also a surgical team where all products are efficiently ad professional folded to hospital very specific details and are met by professional folders .  Rules are in places so everyone is working at same pace and every position requires your full attention to detail and speed is asset recommended. Time for growth to get you there is given to the employees. So don't be afraid it is a great job. 

As a factory worker, you can not expect much. It's an easy-to-learn job but it can be difficult for the first couple of months. After a point when your body is used to the labour, it may not be as difficult later on.
Machines can give you a hard time but the mechanics on site will fix it almost immediately. 
Supervisors may be rude half of the time, they only care about your production numbers but again you can't expect much as a factory labour. You may come across a few friendly coworkers but not much social life is there.
They conduct an appreciation day for their workers once every two months. 
If you go on the morning shift, you will have the rest of the day to your self however, if you go on the evening shift then you may not a proper work-life balance.

Besides that, the environment is pretty chill and safe. They have a good mix of experienced and new employees and most of them are very helpful. 

The management is extremely passive aggressive, patronizing and downright rude at times. They expect 2 people to do the work of 4 (by the managements indirect admission). The management added extra responsibilities a month after hiring with no explanation, even after 3 inquiries. They say you will need to record your own hours and send them these records every 2 weeks. Not once did they ask me for my recorded hours. My first paycheque was short 3 hours and I had to go ask for my wages. Job description stated that Porters will be moving max 100 lbs, but they encourage you to move two 100 lbs carts at once to make better time. Avoid this company if you value your physical or mental health.

The production manager could care less about the employees! He would rather have the full time been there from the beginning people quit. He makes it VERY difficult to want to stay and do your job, hence he tries to force your hand to quit. The turn over there is astronomically high! for the 6 months i worked there i must have seen over 400 people come and go. some within a matter of an hours work. The work sucks, its hot, noisy and smells. I would NEVER recommend this place of work to anyone unless you enjoy being treated like scum.

Linen Portering requires physical stamina and ability to be on your feet and walking the entire shift.  Shifts are short but busy.  At times there are delays with delivery but these are communicated immediately along with any other changes sometimes last minute.  Support is readily availability as needed.  Good training and communication. Overall rewarding supporting LTC facilities. 

I worked a graveyard shift so it was nice to show up for work and start my shift with my coworkers it was a little bit laid back at that shift.

However, when we got new management in everything started to get dramatic in the workplace.

The fun part of the job was lunch time, the hardest part of the job (there wasn't any), and the company is a very diverse culture where everybody helped everybody there. 

Although i had only worked at Ecotex Healthcare Linen as a laundry assistant for three months, i gained managed to gain many skills. The people that work for this company and the company as a whole is a very friendly and honorable place withe lovable workers. i learned many new thing that i can take with me in the future, for example how to deal with the elderly and handle them with proper care.

head office should Intervene on the work place or replace the management on the site. To much work and low pay at all. Management is corrupt  and some ghost employee. Not fair on the staff and very manipulate regarding for personal gain no proper training at all.

Most days I feel stressed out working there. I am physically drained by the time to go home. The expectation bar is always just out of reach so you are always on your toes wondering if your efforts are good enough.
There is also this underlying hostile in between production teams that kind of steer you even more stress.

It was a great place to work. Co workers and management were amazing and it was never boring. The pay could definitely been much better as we worked very hard and had alot of responsibility.
