Working at Erosion Control Central was a disappointing experience. Hard-working employees are not valued the best you can expect is a small raise of a couple of dollars, and that’s considered “growth” there. Real career development simply doesn’t exist.

What does exist is favoritism. If you come in as someone’s relative or friend, your career will go great regardless of your actual performance. And if you’re into a** kissing, management will promote you quickly even if the rest of the crew hates working with you.

But if you’re a reliable worker who actually does the job well, don’t expect advancement. This company cuts costs everywhere, especially on employees, and it shows. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for real career growth or a professional environment

The President of ECC will go above and beyond for you. However, you are expected to show up and give your best self to the company as much as you can. This is construction, so some days will consist of difficult, labour intensive work.

There is a lot of room for advancement, both in the field and in the office, you just have to be willing to put in the work. ECC also promotes both personal and professional development, and are willing to cover those costs for the most part.

The crews and management are, for the most part, an exceptional group of individuals who try their best to look out for one another. Workplace morale can struggle at times, especially during the grind of the peak season, but the company consistently looks for ways to improve that, and any other issues that come up.

 In 2020 me and the boys thought it was bad. Unfortunately if you can look down you have room to fall. This companys turn over rate is the worst I have ever seen. They will literally tell you pick axe slaps of mud on the street. 2021 They have a returning management and field team. The construction coordinator calls himself the drill Sargent Both are mistakes I advise anyone thinking of working here to stay on the look for another job. Your health will be put on the line for there profits. This company will chew you up like gum then spit you out. the level of disrespect was appalling. 

Not a place u wanna step ur foot into,turn over rate is just a wow there always struggling to keep employees. They use temp agencies just to keep up with work coming in. Place is horribly ran, every morning is a disaster trying  to get out the door. Management  plays  favourites,  Same goes for the owner. U get on there good side u got easy jobs. They don’t like u well you’d wish u didn’t work there. Over all if ur looking for a place that has benefits this isn’t the place. Raises are given whenever the owner feels like it. Overall this place is horrible 

I was hired as a lead operator , later to become a construction manager of the Edmonton office . I can honestly say these people were some of the greatest people to work for . I was very motivated to do well here just based on the attitudes of the owner. Leaving the business I knew I would miss this group of people. I learned a lot form James the owner. Great guy. 

I honestly believe at heart the ownership means well, but the implementation from the GM and leadership what horrible and deceptive.  Im not sure if the deception was intentional or not, but the communication was sorely lacking, and there was definitely a culture of getting the work done over safety at some key times.  Hopefully they have grown past that.

Was told many things in interview that just wasnt true or going to happen. Unfortunately its a revolving door of employees because they struggle to keep guys around due to lack of offering more to workers. Owner is present but doesn't seem to get what needs to be changed to keep guys around. The crew is good for the most part until they leave. 

Erosion Control is a good place to work woth good managers who understand and want to help thier employees succeed, they are great at making accommodations I was in school part time had to be back by 4 to be in class by 5 two days a week and they always had me back on time.
I never missed a class nor was I ever late. 
Good place to work. 

Typical day is being publicly humiliated by an unqualified manager
Upper management expects a ton and does nothing in return
No benefits till after six months!
