Executive Aviation has a really poor training program. They say you’re trained to do certain things however most of the time they spend less than an hour on the subject. There are opportunities to move forward in the company however they do not give you a raise for extra responsibilities you are taking. Many people leave (voluntarily) because of work ethics and poor management. You are hired as part time but they do not tell you they are all split shifts. You bring up concerns to the management and it takes many days/weeks/months for the issue to be resolved. Keeping in mind that sometimes the issue isn’t resolved. They do not pay you according to your duties and responsibilities. Employees were always tired/annoyed. You are better off to talk with other airline employees who are joyful and excited to be at work. Management gets annoyed when you request time off since they do not have enough staff to cover your shift(s) and having to call in employees from out of town. You have to keep your customer service attitude at all times even if things go wrong with the company. Many company vehicles are broken and doesn’t get fixed. Many flights had to be cancelled because a de-icing truck was broken during the winter. Many employees talk behind managements back. I used to love working there, unfortunately we have received new management and things went poorly.

Executive Aviation is a great place to work particularly if you are looking to work in the aviation or travel industry. There's great team spirit and support from management and fellow colleagues. As a CSA (Counter Service Associate) there is a great deal of interaction with customers face to face as well as learning what goes on behind the scenes. Every work day is different with all kinds of new and exciting challenges to overcome whilst navigating your way through your role in assisting the general public with check-in, boarding, advice and whatever else they may throw at you! An opportunity to grow and get to know yourself as well as the people you deal with on a daily basis. Lots of ongoing web based and on hands training relating to all aspects of working in an airport environment including health, safety and security. The hours include split shifts with morning shifts sometimes starting as early as 3am. There are lots of opportunities for advancement for those willing to work hard and be team players. Overall, Executive Aviation is a company that genuinely cares about its employees and will be more than happy to accommodate your work/life balance. Overall a superb place to work! 

It breaks my heart to give the company such a low rating, because I literally LOVED the job. As an aircraft fueler I've never experienced job satisfaction like I did at the Airport. That was literally the only benefit of the job, was the 'job satisfaction'. Here is why I couldn't give more than two stars to the company. 

You're severely underpaid. The safety training requirements for this job are so extensive, the wage is laughable. The safety training is actually just as laughable, they sit you infront of a computer for hours to complete modules that aren't even edited properly. They also lack on so much on this front. Ask anyone what the flashpoint of the fuel they're working with is, and I'll bet no one knows it. 

If you're manager doesn't like you as a person, don't even Bother showing up. It doesn't matter how hard you work, or how much of your boundaries you bend on, they will never do the same for you. They will change conditions of employment on you as they please.  

If you're interested in airport work at all, I highly recommend working as a fueler, in my opinion there's no better job. Just don't do it for executive. They'll leave a bad taste in your mouth. 

This is not worth applying for. You will be expected to work insane hours and start early while wasting most of your day at work with a ton of down time, only to go home and have to go to bed right away because you have to be in early the next morning, if there are delays it’s too bad for you because management does not care about you. Work/Life balance is very difficult. If you’re not a lead you will be thrown into various bummy jobs if you’re not friends with the lead. If you try to give help or tips to anyone it’s laughed off and told to not tell them how to run the job. Management is very very iffy  They have no regard for employee wellbeing or safety. You will work for minimum wage when you are expected to do a ton of jobs and have passenger safety rely on you, not worth it  and people show it. You will be left to overwork yourself because if one or multiple people don’t show up for their shift it’s just a whatever, you can do it yourselves. Manager or extra help will never be able to come in. Winter months you’re expected to work your butt off, and again, be paid minimum wage to deice an aircraft, and if you screw it up, multiple lives are in danger. The job might sound fun, but it’s not

What is the best part of working at the company?
Customers you serve everyday checking in and boarding. You meet new people and reacquaint with old ones and even reconnect with those not seen in years. It's a great experience talking with them while doing the job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of proper delegation and protocol . The management needs to have proper steps in place to bring correction letting people know they are replaceable. The job is not hard, the unpredictabiliy of the transportation industry is a given yet the constant training from those that need training in HR , clear communication and better pay with the expectation in areas that other airlines don't deal. with make it stressful.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pressure to perform/deliver with no incentives to lead a team. JUST WORK like a dog and they will notice you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, demanding, carrying the load of more than one person is often the case with an expectation to deliver top performance with all the rules.

Typical airline agent role, but you are expected to do everything, sometimes for multiple airlines if you are unlucky. They say you will get more flight benefits because you will do multiple airlines, but those benefits are not good. The coworkers are diverse and were great, which was honestly the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

Some coordinators were great and actually know what they're doing compared to everyone in this station and some even stepped up as trainers to meet demand, but unfortunately left. There is high turnover, and you should not expect managers to be on your side. Work life balance is not a priority, and management does not seem to care.

The compensation does not reflect the workload.  There are far better managers elsewhere who actually understand operations and know how to lead teams than they currently have.

If you want to be yelled at by passengers, stressed by your schedule, and be underpaid, then this might be the job for you.


As someone with years of aviation experience under my belt, I was terribly disheartened by my time at EA. The work itself was much like working for any airline/ground handling company, minus the fact that they do not have a grooming department in St. John’s (YYT) so you will be grooming planes in your uniform. The team for the most part was amazing, and my coworkers kept me here as long as I was. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about management.  The hierarchy within YYT and the expectations aligned with each role are very all over the place. Rules and regulations were followed depending on who you are, and what the manager decides. Changes were not communicated effectively, causing confusion amongst our crew. Do not expect any emotional support or responses from your manager, as numbers are of the utmost importance.

This is a good place to work compared to other ground handlers however do not expect professionalism to be held to high standards. Onboarding and training is a complete mess. Office is organized. Station manager is nice but has a big ego. Makes major decisions based on personal relationships around the airport. This is a good place to work if you want a good little snapshot of the aviation industry. Be prepared to make sacrifices and work short staffed or under resourced. 

This position offers better opportunities than many minimum wage jobs, providing valuable exposure to the behind-the-scenes operations of aviation. However, it's important to note that the company is a third-party contractor, so while you work with major airlines, you are not directly employed by them. As a result, the benefits you receive are not as comprehensive as those provided to direct employees.

In terms of management at the Saskatoon (YXE) base, the team is unprofessional and lacks proper organizational skills. Decisions often don’t seem to prioritize employee needs, and feedback on performance or career progression is mostly reactive rather than proactive. While there are skilled colleagues from whom you can learn, the varying levels of experience and ability among team members can sometimes create challenges.

Working at Executive Aviation can be disappointing and sometimes very frustrating. Management will give you the illusion that they care about it's employees, but they ultimately don't. Promises are often made and rarely kept. Training is often rushed, resulting in unsafe situations, usually being resolved by a judgement call. Communication between employees and management is terrible, and results in low employee morale. Wages are low, resulting in poor employee quality, with a high employee turnover rate. There's even a wage cap after several years, ultimately leading to complacency, no motivation, and poor employee retention. The company will have very high expectations of you, that the pay does not reflect. Any positive achievements will often be overshadowed by negativity displayed by coworkers.
