F&P Manufacturing Inc. is one of the major manufacturer of Honda and hence is always busy. A typical day at work was very busy as the time I worked they were removing the old lines and setting up 2016 model lines. For old lines the robots were old and for new model lines there were new downtimes and breakdowns every day. There was something to learn everyday observing how the technicians fix the problems. I learned to operate the welding stations, fixing small reoccurring breakdowns, looking for various stamping or weld defects in the part, welding/reworking parts with bad welds, porosity or missing welds and basic 5S. The co-workers were always helpful as most of them are working since last 10 to 20 years. The hardest part of the job was to figure out the reason when the machine breaks down unusually. And the most enjoyable part of the job was to learn something new from technicians when they came to fix problems and welding or mostly reworking the parts a it was a skill I waned to learn before I left the workplace and have it as an asset.

As a motor vehicle machine operator, i learned a lot of things during my co-op working with F&P. I gain access to typical technical environment to operate MIG, Spot and projection welder robots. A lot of troubleshooting is done every day on robots as well as setting jigs and fixtures for robots. As for a quality assurance purposes, parts have to be checked by using GO-NOGO gauges as well as torque testing of nuts and bolts is also done. additionally, the atmosphere is very helpful in learning different machines as all are very cooperative and help each other in working. i really like the reworking of the welding parts as reworking is done manually by using arc welding. i received so many quality awards for my excellent working and utilizing my technical skills everyday. At last, i like troubleshooting of the robots as it improves my own skills in problem solving.

At one time it was a pretty decent place to work, exceptional training, decent and fun people, management cared and knew you. Now the complete opposite. No chance at upward movement unless you kiss *ss and be a lapdog. Training is a joke. Associates are beat down and made to feel expendable, not appreciated. Management holds themselves above all and you are lucky to have a job there. They do not care until something happens or someone is injured them they react. Until it affects production them back to how it was. Overall morale is very low. Backstabbing and gossip is the norm. Zero privacy, everyone knows everything that happens there. It all makes it to the floor. Management is the biggest problem. Fix it and bring back how it used to be and it may become a decent place to work again. Once was the second highest paid job in the area (behind Honda) now the lowest. 

You start as a temp which can last months (or over a year) then move through 3 ranks (ELA, MCP, full time) which will take years. If you have the patience for that then the community there is great. Work can be relaxed or fast-paced depending on where you are. Team leaders there are great people for the most part and very helpful. Supervisors and managers are nice, but slow to combat challenges facing the plant and its associates. Shifts are days/afternoons rotation and straight nights. Overall I had a great experience in my nearly 8 years there and learned many skills in production and leadership.

This was an amazing company to work for at first did not mind the shift work as it was mon- fri with great overtime perks... the start salary was great and benefits by far the best.. over the 12 plus year we received 50 cents in raises... this company has difficulties keeping staff due to 2 years of being a temporary employee to get hired on by company and 8 years to become a full time associate... this company has now decided to make the switch to 12 hr continental shift, which will affect my home life and health

Awful place to work. Awful management to work for. Awful wage to take home! Full of backstabbing including from management! Has horrible reputation among industry. Cost of living increases are very, very few and far between. I believe their last increase was 40cents, in the past 5 years.( could be mistaken). Just a GREEDY company to work for. That’s why a lot of long term associates are leaving. They’ve woken up to the fact that they work for a company that care’s very little about them, their family and future! Worked there over 25 years, I know what I’m talking about. Stay away.

I mostly worked night shifts at the company. I worked in all 3 departments turn by turn named stamping, welding and painting. The management of the company was very nice and the work environment was positive as well as clean and tidy. The hardest part was maintaining the productivity while big stamping presses faced some problems. The most enjoyable part was to make quality reports and troubleshooting the robot manually.

Pretty much anyone can get in here through a temp agency, I got a call the day after applying and pretty much started working as soon as possible. The pay was okay and the hours were guaranteed 40 per week. You definitely don't want to stick around though, its nice to just put some money away during the summer after school but thats it. The environment is loud and hot, you can't really talk to anyone. I hated going to work I only did it for the money.

Punch in ans drive the forklift around suppling machines

Worked there for 4 years and got fired on a technicality. First problem ever with the company and got thrown out like nothing. The management has no clue what goes on out on the production floor and favouritism is a huge role in advancement in the company. You can spend 20 years here and still be an assembly line worker. Wages top out around 25 an hour after 5 years.
