Typical day at work, is setting tools up with a plan for the day and getting the crew together first thing in the morning. Picking up materials if needed. 

I’ve learned a lot more than I expected before coming to the company with little to 0 experience in the construction/landscaping field. The company had all the patience in the world to let me learn at my pace and take on bigger responsibilities as I felt more comfortable. Never got pushed into doing anything I didn't feel safe or comfortable doing.

Management is respectful to all employees and helpful to those with less experience, such as myself, to help them gain the confidence and skill needed to make every site look good. Majority of foreman’s and crew leaders are easy to go to if you need to ask questions or ask for directions.

Workplace culture is like any workplace. Some people will get a little more into their personal lives than others, and sometimes people don’t work well together. But the management doors are always open for people to talk about any problems/issues and usually things get worked out. 

Hardest part of the job is trying to mesh multiple people with different work ethics together, sometimes making it difficult to complete tasks in a timely manner while making sure everything is 100% accurate to the clients or site managers expectations.

The most enjoyable part of the job is hearing that our boss and the clients are extremely happy with the outcome of the property. Also, not having to re-do little parts of our job sites, because it means everything was done as requested. Seeing a job go from what it was when you started, to the last day when you’re taking final photos when we have wrapped up, it always makes you feel like you’ve achieved something.


Lowest paying company in the region. You will not move up in this company regardless of your experience. You will work there for months and years trying to become foreman or crew leader just to have some young guy brought in with no experience, making $5 more an hour than you. Was good at the beginning but eventually you become a number. I went out of my way to be moved up, bringing and using my own tools, trying to redesign project that I could see problems with, fixing equipment with your own personal parts to not get a thank you or reimbursement. Was promised a bonus at Christmas because I was “ killing it” that bonus never came. When I said I was looking elsewhere I was cursed at and forced to leave. Great group of guys working there, I actually feel bad for them.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very willing to work around your personal life, ie. doctor’s appointment or other things that come up during work hours. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They are unwilling to fire people that are a hazard or are problematic.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Laugh through the stress, everyone has fun but it’s a way to deal with the underlying issues.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
you only find out what you are doing the day of, no advance notice. often tools are broken or left in poor shape by a few of the less caring employees. during work you may be doing a lot of physical work, but the foreman do their best to minimize it if possible.

The work life balance at this company is much better than other places I have worked at in the past, which is something I personally value a lot. There is plenty of room for growth as management often offers certification opportunities (ie. D-class license, spray certification, etc.). I have worked here for about 5 years now, and the group of people that currently work here are some of the most competent and friendly guys I've had the chance to work alongside. Management makes their expectations of you crystal clear, but they are not unreasonable. Overall, you could do a lot worse than this place.

A typical day one can expect a challenging yet enjoyable day of work. The management team from the foreman to the head of the division offer education and opportunities where available. The atmosphere is light and breezy with a focus on positive work culture. The hardest  aspect of the job would be the physical endurance required, however it is a welcome trade off for the camaraderie developed with your crew and other staff members, in the common goal of completing a project to an exceptional level. 

Management is awful I have never seen a manager talk to there employees the way FLEISCHAUER talks to there employees. Work hours are horribly long and always super under staffed trucks and  machines are all old and in rough shape. I will never recommend friends family and others to deal with Fleischauer they are easily one of the worst companies I have ever worked for and seen in my entire life. I strongly advise anyone who has any interest in a construction company look elsewhere asap 

We start off early in the morning around 7 and ending normally around 4:30. Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of properties. 

At this company I have learned to work diligently and efficiently. 

Management is great, very easy to talk with.

The workplace culture can be best described as organized. Everyone does there part to keep areas clean and tidy.  

The hardest part of the job is dealing with the heat in the summer and the bitter cold in the winter.

The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the fruits of your labour. 

The job is simple, mowing lawns, cleaning up garden beds, garbage etc during summer spring etc 

During winter the work involves shovelling/blowing snow and salting.

i hated every moment of it. Got weird stares from people that are supposed to be friendly. To getting told to do things a child could do. There was one shift where we were working for so long in a snowstorm and was unable to go home, because my supervisor basically told me to suck it up, when i couldn't even move my toes.

From when I first started to now the work/life balance has come a long way for the better, management is strict but extremely fair, and I really enjoy the different types of work I do on a daily basis, wages and compensation are the best around for landscaping. Hardest part of the job is time management as the day doesn’t always go as fast planned. Benefits package are very good and are given after a year of service. Overall pretty rad place to be! 

as someone who had no experience in this field when I first started, I was taught the job their way with patience and grace. plenty of room to grow and the pay is more than fair. I was able to complete a 2 year college program during the fall/winter season, and they retained my place for the spring after each term, no questions asked. a very accommodating workplace where you get to work with awesome people.
