Unfortunately, this was one of the worst places I have worked, and that is not an exaggeration. The actual job was pleasant, working with customers etc., pay was good as well as benefits, however managers and HR were very poor at their job, and had no idea of what was actually going on at the branch level. When you tried to bring up something, report something or offer feedback, it was swept under the rug and not taken into consideration, or in worst cases, you were reprimanded or called “insubordinate”. This lead to a very toxic work environment. Management is also unsupportive of individuals with neuro-divergence.

I had a great experience shelving and organizing library materials. Minimal experience is required for the position and the work hours are good for someone who's taking classes. The environment was quiet and perfect for focusing on the duties of the job. My coworkers/managers were all exceptional in helping me learn and grow in this position.

Very little is good about this company

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of caring for the safety of the employees and customers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic environment.  Management has no clue what is actually going on in the physical libraries nor do they care

Working at FVRL is a great experience. Good team spirit will take you far when you work with other library workers in serving the community. Challenges might come in the form of grumpy customers, but there are many ways to deal with them and it's rewarding in the end.

My co-workers were the best part of the job.  We mostly had similar attributes.  And it was a great place to work in a team environment.  Supervisors and Management believed in providing education to help employees have the best customer service skills.

Great workplace and environment. Management is great and amazing coworkers! You work with a variety of customers with different backgrounds and knowledge. 

I worked as a page, and the pay was great, the staff were helpful and kind! My manager was highly accommodating and was open to switching schedules each semester as needed. 

Enjoy working with kids that are usually international or have trouble speaking english and helping them overcome and learn how to read and write english.

Loved working here, best management I've ever worked for, very considerate and flexible. Coworkers were very kind, never had any issues. Pay was good, wish I could work more hours as part time

It was a great job and fun, The only issue is one of the managers is not very nice. It is great pay and hours for students looking for a part time job while attending school.
