First of course you are an independant contractor so you have no protection from the usualy government sources.

Here is my experince:

Theyll promise you the moon that youll make all kinds of money. Sounds good right.

First phone call they try and sell you over priced tools and repair stands, they insist you need them. You don't.

First paycheck, don't count on getting that training pay they promised. They "forgot to add it on your paycheck" but they'll blame you somehow.

Your second paycheck will also be incorrect as much as they think they can scam without you noticing. If you call them on it once again theyll blame you, and play stupid. Suggesting you didnt send in your invoices or that you filled them out wrong. And youll be sure you did but because you're new you'll buy it.

Third paycheck get ready. There will be whole days, usually two or three simply missing. "Oh we paid you on the last paycheck, or no it goes on the next one" even though you have the pay schedule right in front of you.

Fourth paycheck if you haven't quit already. More screw ups, more errors, they start pretending to blame each other, or make you talk to multiple people. Then maybe theyll know by this point you are keeping very good track and pay you. But theyll still say you made errors, which you didnt, and claw back on your payckeck.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WORK AS A BIKE BUILDER FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

When there work available it's decent but it's very periodic and not at all fulltime. Some of their procedures don't fit all schedules with time changes and office hours. It is sub contract work so you have to know what your doing with invoicing and things like that. Rates are fare and they do pay mileage. Often hard to get immediate answers when trying to contact your lead advisors. Being part time casual is definetly the biggest perk when it comes down to it. Flexible and understanding with completion timelines etc. Uniform is provided but your backround check fee will be deducted off of your first pay. Not sll city's or towns have a lot of work compared to the major hubs and alot in southern Ontario.

Being the only bilingual representative, I was the first point of contact for all French General Maintenance Technicians or for facility general maintenance & repairs.

Administrative Assistant for 2 Account Managers & one Senior Manager for various time consuming projects.

 Assist Human Resources with recruitment of French Technicians & Contractors.

iCheck is a great company to work for. Management is empowering, understanding, and resourceful. The culture is very positive and supported by great ownership team. If given the opportunity to work here I highly recommend! 

Contracts are offered remotely and technicians have a choice to accept or not accept work orders. Staff are professional polite and courteous. The pay is appropriate for the job title and travel is accommodated to some extent. 

Icheck has a fast growing team backed by colleagues that truly care about the company and eachother. They have great benefits and are usually very lenient with punctuality as long as it doesn't become a habit.

Very repetitive work and culture was not that fun. Management was supporting and would let you take days off when needed. However, a lot of internal politics.

This is such a great place to work. The people are super kind and the management is awesome. They are always doing fun things for the staff. It’s a very relaxed environment. 

With a very strong focus on sales of the new bikes and not on the service, it was difficult to support the bikes post-sales, which was the most frustrating part of the job.
