Fairchild Television has garnered criticism for its poor management practices and inequitable treatment of employees. Reports suggest a pervasive lack of concern for staff well-being, with the organization failing to address workplace stress or provide meaningful support. Employees often face overwhelming workloads without sufficient resources or recognition, leading to a toxic work environment.  

Compounding these issues, Fairchild Television has been accused of unfair pay practices, with many employees feeling undervalued and undercompensated for their efforts. Despite their dedication to delivering quality content, workers frequently experience frustration and burnout due to management's apparent indifference to their needs.  

The company takes budget control over any qualities. Fairly speaking, TV industries aren't as prosperous as the old days, it is somewhat understandable to running in a tight budget.

However, a qualitied TV programs and News production are a high cost industry in its nature.

Therefore, running a TV station with a tight budget is contradictory in itself.

With this conflict existing, you would run into so many frustration while working there (if you are a passionate TV industry worker).

BUT, honestly speaking, if you are a fresh grad, or new immigrant, that might still be a good first landing point for your career for experiences.


Worked for a while at Fairchild TV (Richmond location).
The worst job that I have ever had!
1. Heavy workload 
2. This company doesn’t value employees 
3. Salary is paid monthly, not bi-weekly (that’s odd - very typical Chinese company)
**4. Main issue - coworkers are so rude and bad attitude. They do not know how to respect people. Mostly work with old people.
5. No parking spot 
6. The person worked in this post changed very often. No one would like to want to work in this bad environment.

AND ESPECIALLY THIS JOB POST 營業助理 -the new job name

- Good first job to earn experience in accounting.
- Accounting seniors/managers are more than willing to show you the ropes, as long as you follow their steps and don't make repetitive mistakes.
- I had a good time working in the accounting department . Co-workers were friendly and cooperative. 
- Opportunity could arise to deal with different types of accounting, from media to retail, as Fairchild is involved in various industries.

Toxic work environment
Rude senior co-workers (a lot)
No overtime pay, work long hours without pay (so good luck)


You will face a lot of challenges, limited resources to do perfect tasks.
There was limited back up power for 24/7 broadcasting. It is now in good shape after my accomplishment.
Over 70% equipment are out of parts support. 
Staff moral is low.
Markets and subscribers are leaving

Overall rating is full rate, different positions have different regulations. For my position, it provides a good environment, ok salary/benefits and nice employees.

Edit all the TV programme promo and it is fun to work with.
Looking at the monitor in long hours is not good to the eyes.
Learn how to use computer software to do editing.

Every single element is crucial to the success of the event and I believe effective communication and attention to details are the keys to flawless event.

Very flexible. Work on assignment and on events to bring the photography/videography equipment to and from set. Sometimes setting up for events. Easy and great way to get a feel of the industry.
