This company is based and is run on lies and racial profiling, Lying to customers, Faking prices etc. there are no benefits even after 2 years of employment, your pay will start at 14 and most likely stay the same when you will be told “ things will change”.they are a very racially biased on who they employ, and it’s not a comment it’s a fact walk into any fairweather, international clothiers, designer depot etc any store affiliated with [ internacional  company INC] you will always find the same type of culturally related individuals with very few diverse individuals, and they are usually international students who have 2-3 job and work only 1 shift. The issue is not the students it’s the employers who are using that power to hire employees based on their background which is not correct. they will over work you and under pay you. They will constantly lie,to both you and customers they will tell you they have no hours at all for current employees, being there is so few already and they deem it wise to hire 1 other employe as well culturally alike for 1 day for a 4 hour shift. I’m not sure if I’m wrong but it’s absurd when you have employees asking for hours, they lie to people in buying fast fashion clothing at such an expensive price when if you notice it’s all poliéster, torn and white strings hanging, they will say that 1 item is $10 one day and the next it will be $49.99 it’s a scam, they are liars I was fed up with lying to old people who barely had money to spend and my manager constantly trying to up sell, I understand that is our job but we are all human and if they are saying I can’t buy that 2nd shirt for 30 dollars right now, they can’t. They will try to undermine you and belittle you and threaten to fire you when nothing wrong is being done and procedures are being followed and then try and manipulate you with scare tactics about how your doing things wrong when your abiding by the law and being human  . The location that I worked at was terrible because we did not have access to a washroom and we would have to constantly work 5-6+ hr shifts on our own with out ability to leave the store and when brought to the managers attention, I was told to stay quiet because “ we are all okay with this” and when I refused to stay quiet and called the ministry they had the audacity to cut my hours and continue to undermine myself and other employees, I was fed up with the abuse being revived by this company, especially the lies. And decided to quit. I’m currently unemployed but looking and I think that even though they say find a job before you leave one, this was the best decision I made. I hope this message gets out and this company is exposed for all their lies. Spread the message if possible

I’ve worked at Fairweather for almost 3 years, and have worked my way from Sales to key-holding, until I managed my own store.

There’s a pleasing level of freedom with this job, and I believe that is what made it so enjoyable for both my team and myself. We’ve learned it’s okay to have fun, and laugh in our day, as long as we make sure that at the end of the day everything that needs to be done is finished. 

Working to understand the business and the customers need will turn to benefit you huge with this company, as anything that makes you stand out and excell does get recongized. My team received constant monthly bonuses and contest awards for pushing ourselves, and working to provide the best customer service.

However the job does entail a lot, and every person has a lot of responsibility when they accept this job, as it is usually small teams, with a lot to do. This was my only frustration while working here: that if you are not a person who is good at tasking, and work with a long to-do list, you’ll get overwhelmed quick and won’t last at this job.

 Although I have yet to come across a job after Fairweather that requires so much responsibility from one person, it’s taught me every nook and cranny there is in a retail job, that I had absolutely no trouble finding a job after I moved on, as every job I moved on to always would be stunned with the volume of work you’re taught at your job here.

Definitely the ideal entry-level retail job, especially for someone who wants to make a career in retail management one day!

Fairweather was a great experience for me. I first started with the location as it was just being built up from scratch. I played a great role in putting up wall fixtures according to HO visual guidelines, sorting and placing new stock to create a store presentable for grand opening and our customers, and executed proper marketing placement for effective sales for the company. 

  After my three months probation I was then promoted to key holder. A typical day as a key holder consisted of opening and closing; the store and store logs, bank logs, files, communication systems, and cash systems, Also supervising employees and outside assisting staff, and managing the stores daily functions. A typical day also consisted of marketing changes in store, and shipping/receiving and placing new product.

  One strength I learned about myself from being in management at Fairweather, is that there were times I found it necessary to complete a task even when off shift. The hardest part of my job as Management in Fairweather was trying to rise above the competition at all times. As for the my Coworkers, there were times when everyone was in unison and then there were times when everyone needed their own attention. The most enjoyable parts of my job was learning new skills, new product, and new personalities.

 I appreciate the experience.

Most of my co-workers were ambitious but the other portion were lazy and unprofessional. My manager worked me to the bone and I didn't get much benefit from all my hard work. The company expected me to drop everything whenever they needed me and their expectations were sky high and unobtainable. It didn't matter how hard I tried it was never good enough. I got ZERO safety training and had to use a ladder to reach high places in the store with my own common sense. The whole experience was stressful however most of my coworkers worked very hard and the customers were fantastic, I was always pleasant with our customers and continued to be even if the whole day had been stressful. The only enjoyable part of the job was when I got a task to do such as organizing a display, after I was given instruction my manager wouldn't stand over my shoulder, whereas in every other aspect of my job she did. I gained good customer service experience but not so good an experience with this company and the unprofessional co-workers that slacked off made me feel as though I was working too hard. This company has to become more professional.

As a Key Holder a typical day would include, opening the store, balancing till's in the morning, checking the store to make sure that shift before did their work, which most of the time it did not happen, I would always come in early because there was always stuff to do.
I have learned so much from this company, and from talking to other peer's and such this is a bad example for retail. I have learned this is not how to run a company, and how to treat your employee's and customers. Management was too much, always hiring and firing new Distract Managers, Area Managers & Managers. Head office was down quite often re-arranging the store, too many people had a say in what the store needed to look like. Most of my co-workers were awesome, they made my time enjoyable for the most. The hardest part of my job was I was always at fault if someone else did something, I was always to blame. The most enjoyable part of my job was the new people I had met.

Being a Key Holder at Fairweather comes with its ups and downs. On the positive side, the people I work with are fantastic—friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. The team environment makes even the toughest shifts enjoyable, and management is approachable and understanding. Building relationships with coworkers and regular customers has been the highlight of the job.

However, the role itself can sometimes feel unproductive and monotonous. There are slow days where tasks feel repetitive—restocking, tidying, and opening/closing procedures can become tedious without much variation. While responsibility is a plus, the lack of engaging challenges can make the job feel stagnant at times.

That said, if you enjoy a structured retail environment with great coworkers, Fairweather is a solid place to work. The role could benefit from more opportunities for growth or dynamic tasks, but the positive team culture makes up for some of the routine aspects. Overall, a decent experience with room for improvement.

My store went under, so that gives you an idea of how it was. A little bit unfair because my hours were dictated by how much money/people I cashed out under my name, but there were no commission rules so constantly other people would cash out customers I was helping and get credit. In a 3 hour shift (which was all I'd get every week) maybe 10 people came in total.
Very crowded with clothing racks as well. You can't stretch your arms in any one place and not be touching something. In winter, all the static from brushing by clothing everywhere you walked would give you shocks when you touch the metal hangers/racks 8 out of 10 times. By the end of my 3-hour shifts, my fingertips were actually red and sore haha.
Clothing quality is honestly mediocre and has little unique style. All the price tags have the price of a high-quality item but are ALWAYS marked down to the regular price of cheap clothing.
But hey, a job's a job.

When I worked at Fairweather/Labels, we weren’t paid fairly for the work we did. I was thrown in as a manager after a month and never got a single raise despite the amount of work I did and the hours I worked. We were forced to work 13 hour shifts because they wouldn’t send in someone to cover breaks so we were forced to eat our lunch behind the counter because we couldn’t close the doors and weren’t given a proper break, but got in trouble when they saw on the cameras that we WERE eating. Despite working there for a year and working 40+ hours a week, we weren’t paid overtime nor were we given benefits. They don’t care about work/life balance and they never approved time off requests no matter the situation. The communication between the higher ups and the people working in the store was abysmal. I was forced to transfer to a store I did not want to transfer to with 2 DAYS of notice. I 10/10 do not recommend working here (I was then fired for not being able to show up to work cause I had Covid) 

A typical day at work is ensuring customers are being greeted and giving details about current promotions. Also, making sure the store is maintained clean and organized 100 %. This job helped me to improve my leadership skills and becoming better at handling stressful situations with customers. This company has a great team of workers who constantly take initiatives and ensuring every task is being completed on time or even ahead of time. The hardest part of the job is to keep on track of every customer as there's short list of staff and the most enjoyable part is helping out a customer with specific purchase;especially when they listen to your advice. The other enjoyable part is working with your team and being able to motivate each other to meet certain goals.

 Working here had its ups and downs but within 6 months of working here, I was promoted to Key Holder. The team I worked with was amazing. My manager was a amazing and really cared about my well-being and my success in the company. She always came to reach out to me for any support ( she was fairly fluent in English but required some extra support). She was basically my work mom and it was always a fun time with her. There will be times where you are alone for a bit due to shortage of employees hence making it hard for you to want to use the washroom or take a quick break because there isn’t another person to watch the store. There’s not much benefits but this job does allow you the opportunity to learn how to build people skills and support customers in reaching their needs. You also learn computer skills.
