Family Dynamics

Everyday as I would get to work, there was ALWAYS kids waiting there for me with a smile. My co-workers were some of the greatest I have ever had the privilege to meet. A typical day at work was somewhat easy, a lot of it challenging. We deal with a lot of people with special needs and disabilities. So as fun as it was, a lot of times it was just as difficult. I learned a lot at my job. Varying from how to cook simple meals, to how to calm someone down in the middle of a breakdown. The hardest part of my job was when one of the kids with special needs would have a meltdown and need assistance. They don't like to be touched or helped, but with many other kids and adults there, this was an unacceptable behaviour. Once you managed to calm them, and get them to listen to what you were saying, it was always smooth sailing. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting the all the different people from many backgrounds, forming friendships.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I made Some nice friendships. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Paid parking, which costs a ton. 
Having a supervisor ls and manager who are extreme
Micromanagers. 
Managing support workers who don’t do their jobs properly. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some days it’ was
Fun with staff, other days many people were unhappy with upper management. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. Micromanaged. Answering phone calls and emails.

Upper staff are very judgemental, talks behind your back to other employees.
Training is often incomplete and repetitive. 
Supervisors are not supportive and focus blame onto you without asking you opinion.
I find that most staff are not happy there, especially those at head office.
People working there for 20+years make the same as someone who has worked of 4years in the same job title. 
Some workers will break rules e.g.. taking food and clothing home which is meant for the community.

Ive had a good working environment with office staff but since they all left it has been a battle of them not supporting the support workers..i do love working with clients and my coworkers are a delight.   I go into home and i do respite and support for families and we do get training and working full time and we have requirement of 2 evenings a week..we get benefits worth 80 % ..having a great working environment is something that i love i get paid after 17 yrs with them is 17:95 / hr

What is the best part of working at the company?
Coworkers team are amazing and supportive and free parking for the coordinator. Anything else is rubbish; unprofessional manager and very low pay and waisted time on useless meetings to tLk about our plans for the Halloween and Christmas  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Micromanagement. Manager is snooping on staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Boring and not inclusive!

I had enjoyed working at family dynamics. The employee and the management teams are wonderful. The company, while maintaining quality of service provided to  its clents,  provides a flexible work schedule and professional develipment to its employees.

It's fun and busy, got to go places with the kids. I learned to work in a very fast paste environment. My co- worker worked just as hard as i did. The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the kids, when they have so much energy! The most enjoyable part of the job was spending all day long with the day, who i grew to love!!

Great place to work if you enjoy working in the community and with families. Management is very supportive and offers lots of learning/training opportunities. Sometimes it is hard to leave a long term home but at the same time it is exciting to meet new ones. It is nice to know that you may be making a difference in a family's life.

The work is straightforward and simple. Front desk pay is good by standards here and Co workers are great. Having a full kitchen for staff is a plus. I actually enjoy going to work. Evenings can be slow but receptionists are allowed to bring something they enjoy doing to keep you less bored.

Days would either busy or not busy. Kids were great to be with. kids from other communities would join us on outings. the managers we very nice and understanding when things get overwhelming.
