What is the best part of working at the company?
The schedule, working 10 hours for 4 days gives you a lot of time for yourself to do other things, always a long weekend! The pay is very competitive plus the company group pension plan and group Insurance plan. The employees are treated with respect and no violence is tolerated you can get on top your work in peace everyday, no hassle. The workplace is very clean I've never seen a work place that clean. The company is a fortune 500 member so that means it is a premium workplace to be.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The stress is what you put on your shoulder. You are being advised to work carefully and safely when you're doing a load or other job that anyone can do, what is so stressful about that?

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone is a family, pretty much, everyone knows everyone at least in my shift. We help each other in a way that doesn't show down the others production. There are standards that need to be followed it gives a chance for improvement.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Job one first of all is to satisfy the customer's needs by filling up orders and delivering them on time. And products are well handled to customer satisfaction.

Typical customer service over the phone. Repetitive. It gets boring.

I've learned to stand up for myself with the management. For them you're just a number. They want you to be a robot. You have to be in between competent and naive. Once you start questioning they make sure you go down.

Management is a fail. A lot of favouritism and racism, empty promises. They send an email out to everyone when there are job postings but that's all for show. They've already selected an individual for it from the get go - this happened a lot. The selected individuals would confirm it themselves.

Workplace culture is the same as everywhere else, you have lots of jealous co-workers, nosy co-workers, gossipers, etc. Even the management participates in this, it's unfortunate.

The  hardest part was rude customers who act like you're their slave

Job's chill once you know everything. Super easy. For me at least.

Though an extremely busy office (at least when I was there, it seems not so much anymore), I would go back to FTN. They pay quite well, especially compared to other brokers. They offer good benefits and though not perfect, they are over all a pretty decent company to work for. 
Management team does need more training in the human experience, but again, comparably to other businesses, FTN is still doing pretty good. Where they lack in some instances, they do make up for in others I can say that much.  
Very busy office, which makes time fly, though not everyone's cup of tea for certain.
Sadly the office in Sarnia is closed during midnights and weekends now so the prospects of a position opening up again are slim to none, I, as I said would return.

From the customer side, unhappy with performance of document processing by customs brokerage. This is the only one brokerage I know so far who consistently delays documentation processing even if everything was sent to them on-time. It takes half a day up to a couple of days until everything processed and trucks can proceed and cross the border. Trucks just sitting at the border awaiting clearance of their shipments while drivers are running out of their work shifts and falling into delay in their schedule. 
The management seems very poor, every time I follow up getting same answer, the documents were received and in que for processing. They always behind. 
Would not recommend.

Lock of maral, and every one just  going through motion and edge  lots of gossip  it take away a healthy environment and a high turn over of staff ,too mush time training and no one stays

One sided there is so  much peregist no equal

Good work  setting good equipment sone very good people to work alongside of   but u can see every one can't wait till day is over   even though they love the job,

I worked here as an intern for 6 months. The company itself is really good but the job is paid for low the work you are expected to do. You take high volume of calls from angry callers complaining about duty taxes. Management doesn’t support , and they favour certain long time employees. The people who work there are miserable, unhappy and very negative. They won’t help you.  They will even try to get you into trouble.I would not recommend working here.

-Coordinate and collaborated with FedEx Express internal departments to identify service opportunities for improving quality service to our customers

-Identified and analyze customer needs in a timely and effective manner

-Remained current on all FedEx training, features of service, products, automation, marketing promotions including international customs regulations

The work culture is a top notch, the job is flexible and the management staff are just cool

Heavy lifting and resuming before 3am for warehouse staff.

My overall experience of working at FTN was an excellent one. I miss my fellow coworkers everyday. The company was larger than life when I joined but fell into the trap of lower salaries, not hiring from within and put the worn people into upper management roles that affected the overall morale of the company.
