I worked in a guard supervisor role for the Federal Force Protection Agency, and also conducted training.   The first thing that impressed me about this company was its professionalism.   Realizing that the 40-hour security guard course required by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) left gaps in many guards' knowledge, the company conducted its own in-house training to fill in those knowledge gaps.   FFPA was also big on recognizing superior performance and dedication.   It had a number of incentive awards programs to recognize guards who did an outstanding job.  Most promotions were made from inside FFPA's own ranks.   The company also worked hard to accommodate guards who were taking university or college courses.   The enthusiasm of FFPA's management was contagious; you could see the owners' dedication to their customers.   And they cared about the guards, too.   They even instituted a "Consideration of Others" course to help the guards work better with each other.   At FFPA, it was "Mission first, people always."   This was reflected in client satisfaction and in the guards feeling they were genuinely cared about.  The guards I supervised were always ready to do more than just the minimum for the client because they took pride in belonging to a truly professional organization.   Few security companies had such an enlightened management team.   This was definitely one of the best companies in the province to work for.

I had my college work term with FFPA as Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. It was my first HR-related job, and I can confidently say it was very useful for my future career.
Managers were kind and friendly. Everyone was trying to keep a cozy work environment. My manager put extra effort in ensuring I learn new things and even everything extra I was interested about – she was a great teacher.
The hours of work were tuff (7 am to 7 pm), but I only worked 3 days a week and had the remaining 4 to sleep as much as I want and to spend time with my family.
The also cared about their security personnel by accommodating schedules and not scheduling to far from home.
In overall, I can rate my experience as very valuable.

I worked for federal force for about a year and a half, and I can honestly say they are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. Horrible communication, Hours missing, bad management, bad pay rate etc... I cannot stress to everyone to stay away from working with them. I remember 6 months into working with them I had to take a sick day because of the flu (Middle of winter) and gave them plenty of notice. They said if I don't come into work that it would be a "Voluntary quit". They could care less about there employee's. Overall If i could rate this company in the negatives I would. Only good thing is that we had some decent training sessions of varies topics.

I worked with this company for almost 6 years and found the management and staff very helpful,cordial and cooperative.The management team   were so cooperative with their employees and always listened to their problems and tried to solve them at their best.We used to have get together in different hotels at company expense couple of times in a year  and we had an opportunity to talk on different problems encountered at the work place. This company always offered courses to their employees free of cost related to security industry and I myself did few courses for strengthening my career in security industy.  I dont have any bad  comments for this company.

I worked for fedsec a few years ago. Management was nice to me and all tactical gear was given to me without a crazy wait time. The sites pay next to nothing unfortunately. Its okay if you live by yourself but if you have a girlfriend and a kid, 11.75/h isn't going to cut it. They had an amazing site at Ontario place but there was no access to mobile vehicles or at least golf carts. I would recommend this company to new security guards who want to learn the field.

- Logged in and out by telephone
- Not much direction or communication on what was expected on site
- There was an occasion I was left on site for 18 hours, waiting for the company to send the next security guard
- Company showed little to no remorse for creating such a situation

Contrary to a previous review, this organization has been very professional and progressive in keeping it's employees content. Management is above average and continues to impress with it's innovative and very fair scheduling procedures.

As a site supervisor, I found management to be very supportive and helpful when called upon. All of my dealings with staff were both professional and friendly. Enjoyed my time with FFPA. Worked with some great people!

they did not care about their workers or their clients, glad they sold out. this company no longer operates so this review is pointless
