A typical day started at 8 am or thereabout. Checking email and reviewing work tickets from previous days was routine. This would bring me up to speed with my to-do-list which was mandatory. I would reply to emails, action on emails, and even compose emails if I needed to. I would prioritize my to-do-list and start on task 1 on the list. As I went down the list new work requests, request for support with SharePoint and many other administrative tasks related to SharePoint administration would be added to the to-do-list. Occasionally I would attend a departmental meeting or a meeting with my boss.
Apart from supporting SharePoint users, I would hold discussions with users to establish what they would want SharePoint to do for them or how SharePoint would help them in their day-to-day work. I loved this because it was more in line with what I enjoy most - providing solutions to problems. I used various tools to document requirements including Enterprise Architect. After requirements were agreed upon by users I would plan a project to implement the solution. Normally I would design and write code using various tools including Telerik ASP for .NET and a bit of JavaScript. In most cases, however, solutions would be implemented using out-of-the-box functionality including web parts. I would then install my new solution(s) on SharePoint and train users on how to use the solution.
Some of my duties included supporting installed solutions including implementing change requests and adding new functionality.

This is not a good company. Extremely un professional with non educated management. Who do not practice what they preach! It’s a cut throat business with the company ready to lie to you around all corners. Famous words it’s your business in the business. And you will be treated as so with zero respect to your personal life and your compliance even when you strive for excellence you will never be good enough. Women are treated very much differently then men are in management. And your pay scale will reflect that. If you are ready and willing to be walked over and treated like you don’t matter then this is the job for you. To be over worked with no sympathy to your personal health. Get ready to work 15 plus hours a day and never be compensated and made for it to be turned around on you that you are not good enough. This company is terrible and full of lies and deceit. The famous rule of their code of ethics is a joke maybe upper management should comply to instead of pretending they follow their code of ethic that is only words not even remotely close to being held with honour and followed.  I can never support such a horrible company like Co-op now that I’ve seen the inside of their company and the lies that are stacked so high on top of each other it’s disturbing to know that people are lead to believe this is a good company. Beware of you next move to working in management with-in Co-op.

I did bulk fuel hauling out of the Winnipeg Manitoba location so keep that in mind as I’m sure experiences vary based on branch location. This location though is great, management really cares about their employees, they are always doing small things to show that they appreciate you and letting you know you’re doing a good job. I had to do a lot of overtime at one point when it was busy and a few weeks later they pulled me into the office and thanked me for all my hard work and gave me a nice gift. It might seem small but it’s really nice to hear that they recognize it and furthermore show that appreciation. I know of employees who had personal issues at home and management was extremely accommodating and supportive towards them. The guys I worked with were really helpful and friendly, we all got along and had a great time talking in the mornings as we got ready. The pay is really great, benefits too, and pension. I really can’t think of any complaints with this location. At times it can be very busy, and other times slow but if it’s slow they’ll always keep you busy enough so you at least get your full time hours and never have a “lower” paycheque. 

They have pretty small IT department but you would find the whole world's politics in here. Worse of the worse management. Zero ethics and professionalism. Top tier management is sucking money from the company by giving contracts to incompetent vendors in exchange for commission. As it's a federation, no financial audit/scrutiny. If you come from a fast paced company, you will have a tough time dealing with people as everyone will hate you if you become super proactive. Managers are afraid of escalating against the vendors as they have contacts at top level. Contractors have zero liability but they take 400% more money than FTE. There is no work from home even if you freeze to death at -50 degree. They run projects for 5 years to extend their contracts and by then the technology becomes obsolete. They will hire you for something and then ask you to do everything except what you were hired to do. If your supervisors say you did great, take it in writing as they stoop to such low level blaming you did nothing when it is time to give performance bonus.

In summary - if money is the only criteria then join here and go 10 years back in your career path else AVOID.

The job is not bad. The supervisor made it terrible he pushed and whined and bitched almost everyday. The worst part is playing double standard like watching you every minute when you take your lunch and made sure you don't exceed one minute. Meanwhile, his "favorites" can sit for hours in the lunch room talking about hockey, football, sunshine girl, etc. and he didn't seem to notice it. As a matter of fact he was with them lots of times. The terrible part is if you are not a favorite, he wouldn't care if you have a break or not. He will just give you a list of what you should do without consideration about your need for breaks! I felt like a slave. Only having a break when it is already home time. And if a certain feed is needed urgently and it wasn't made on time because the mill cannot handle well the ingredients in it and kept on breaking down, it will be your fault. You will be made to feel guilty like getting paid for very little work done as if it was really your fault.

Your typical workday here is using a double pallet-jack to pick orders from each aisle in the warehouse, either in the dry, cooler, or freezer zones.  Unfortunately, you do not use an RF scanner for picking the product - you use Talkman Voice Control.  The job is pretty easy, but the voice control is extremely annoying to use (especially if you have an accent or are not a native English speaker) as you can't talk to coworkers, you end up having to repeat yourself a lot, and your voice becomes very hoarse by the end of the day.  I understand why they use it, as it is a cheaper and more eco-friendly alternative to using RF scanners and labels, but as a whole it slows down the whole warehouse operation.  Not one employee I talked to while working there said anything positive about the Talkman system.

Management is good, no problems there.  Employees are alright as well.

Now, when I say "union stereotype," think run-down or out-of-date equipment, a dimly lit warehouse, and a general atmosphere of "meh."

What I learned.....why  I don't want to work here.

Management.... this is a show stopper for success.  CEO has a good vibe, but the buck stops there. Mgmt pushes from the back instead of leading from the front. Opportunity squandered and lack of decision making ability hinders ability to move forward, or find success in any part of  your job.

I'm sure there are happy employees that work here. If you want to do a set of tasks over and over, and never want to ask questions, or change anything, this is the place for you.  

They call their IT department Innovation.  They are still looking for something to Innovate. You fill out an expense, use a mainframe to submit, print it out, get someone to sign your expense, walk your paper to a desk that processes the expense.  Just one example of an archaic issue that many companies solved 10 plus years ago. 

Coworkers are usually good.  One of the few bright spots.  They try to make a difference but that is tough to do when management has too few bodies doing too much work.

I had work here before as a material handler and do not miss it at all , they get you to work at a pace that allows for no mistakes along the way , literally track your down time down to the last minute, they told me that the pace set was definitely achievable but after 3 month working their , I couldn’t do it sadly and they looked down on me for it I felt , the supervisors were always talking behind peoples back in their supervisors office , caught them multiple times , , most of the people were nice Co workers were very friendly and open to people ,warehouse  manager told me that you have to work their usually for 5 years before you get enough Seniority before you get a chance to get prime vacation time like in the summer for example , If your robot that likes to  do the same thing everyday all day then this is the job for you 

Some great supervisors and great people work there the work isn’t to bad could be getting better pay but you get paid for what you are supposed to be doing none the less. Some supervisors have favourites and will help out other coworkers more then you.They do not discipline seniority co workers and let them sit around and do whatever.one of my coworkers was not making there average/there quota and when taken for discipline they just ask the supervisor/hr if it was because of there skin colour and to this day that coworker is still not making there average/quota and hasn’t been disciplined and won’t.it’s sad to see this place turn into the place it is

Decent place to work if you can deal with the voice control. Takes time to get used to, but in general horribly annoying to deal with day after day after day. Prone for errors due loud environment, so one needs nerves of steel to be able to ignore the flaws of it. Cracked floors which demolish palette jacks over time, messy product organization not helping one to perform as good as one can. Too far to walk to canteen for a break, and hence not enough time for rest. Awesome managers, HR, very responsive, outgoing and listening. Open door policy to go and say what needs to be said. Adequate safety standards. On par with industry pay rates.
