Working at Feed Nova Scotia provides great sense of purpose and day to day operations involve working closely with volunteers which is a big bonus. Their operations employees are treated very poorly in comparison to administration employees and Feed Nova Scotia Management cannot be trusted to act with integrity. In my years of experience with this organization I learned that Operations Management can not be trusted to act in an honest manner. If you're applying for administration you will likely be treated well. If you working on the warehouse floor or on the road you will be better off elsewhere in my opinion.

- lack of proper ethics and morals
- the leadership/exec team treats people like monkeys (do as they say...no questions)
- unhealthy work environment
- very questionable recruitment & hiring practices
- low pay
- no benefits
- they rely heavily on volunteers rather than creating long term opportunities for people in the community
- the 'team' environment does not exist as the management is very cutthroat
- tired organization that really needs new air and new ways of engaging with the community/communities they serve

Helping put food in the hands and mouthes of people in need

Dealing with woke politics and authoritarian rule

If you’re politics and beliefs align with theirs you will be fine very decisive environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Deliver food pick up food interact with people

A typical day as a Feed Nova Scotia volunteer involves coming to work and heading up to the warehouse through the front office. Then volunteers all work together packaging and preparing shipments of food for food banks across Nova Scotia with great camaraderie.

This is a very “business like” workplace. There is much “fakeness” in the management teams. They claim they are equal opportunity employers, not so! You work hard with very few breaks and do not pay OT

- Leadership is not transparent. They push back when you ask questions. They do not provide feedback on your productivity.
- Inclusion and Equality is not practiced
- Low pay
- Unstructured hiring process and HR presence

Different teams treated differently. 
Staff are amazing always there for volunteers
Focus needs to go back to putting food on tables.
The agencies across the province are amazing and the work  being done, this is why people stay.
Not as it seems.

Staff and volunteers are all super and work well together. The amount of donations that come through the door is absolutely heartwarming. Nice to see so many people working together to help the community, especially those who are in need the most.

there was little to no training. I had to ask for training.  for a company who is a no profit, managers and supervisors made a great deal more than the people doing the work. 

Great opptunity to learn about how to cherish food and they are people still suffering from starving. My responsibility was to desintiguish the bad product and good product, in order to make the organization to send the supply to people who is needed.
