Ferus

Ferus has a new mandate concerning its driver staff. It is to try to get rid of as many as they can without having to offer severance packages, so basically they are slowly taking all of the reasons to work for Ferus away, forcing the drivers to quit. Wages have been cut, hours have been cut, no standby pay, no pay for travel time in company vehicle, next will be the benefits. In a recent letter to the drivers it is stated in the first paragraph that it is more cost effective for Ferus to run a 3rd party fleet and have no company drivers. So instead of doing the decent thing by offering the drivers layoffs with a severance package, they are taking everything away. The driver staff at Ferus was some of the most experienced in the industry but now they are leaving in droves trying to find work elsewhere so they can survive because it is no longer possible at Ferus. Throughout all of these tactics by Ferus, there was no mention of management or the executive taking ANY cuts. Absolutely terrible company that places no value in its drivers and ignores the years of loyalty that some of them have given to Ferus. Yes the oil patch is in sad shape these days and downsizing and cuts are occurring, but Ferus could have handled this in a better way.

I worked for Ferus for about eight months when my daughter suddenly past away. At this time my mind was obviously not on tasks at hand so I asked for time off to heal and come to terms with my new reality. They said of course just call when you are wanting to come back and we parted on good terms. When I did call and say I was ready to come back and was able to be a quality employee again I got the fleet managers voice mail so I left a message. Few days later I get a TEXT... “thank you for reaching out but at this time we are not interested in pursuing a position with you”. Like really? Over text? So I would suggest staying clear of this company because all they care about is the bottom line and you are just a minion who can and will be replaced.

The worst place to work.  I took a seasonal job with them and it was the worst.  They run an old fleet of broke down garbage so expect to be driving an old piece of garbage. They also run trucks that run on lng which are an absolute nightmare.  So if spending half your time freezing your but off broke down on the side of the highway in winter is your idea of opportunity then go ahead and try Ferus.  Dispatch and management are a miserable bunch of liars.  Expect to be treated like garbage.  Pick the place on indeed that looks like the worst company to work for and it will be better than Ferus.  Stay away from this outfit, they are a terrible company to work for.

Great job, lots of work when the patch was busy, management was easy to talk to and they seems to care about the staff. They held on to people as long as they could during the downturn, there was great effort to keep people working. Sadly it didnt turn out so great for many. I would definately go back if I get called.

A world recognized company that has high standards. Meeting dispatch requests while maintaining Federal HOS requirements requires a sharp mind. Compliance did not guarantee income. You could often be found "at work" but not being paid.

Productive and fun workplace

 Poor Management.   Would Never work for them again.    They paid to train us, and spent 2 days talking about useless stuff and then in the last 45min they Showed us the Trailers and the iPad that we were supposed to use for tickets.   If wasn't even close to enough time.   Should have had a Whole day. 

While management is still green, Ferus is filled with many highly intelligent, hard working employees. 

The Ferus culture values fun, but also demands that the work gets done. 

I greatly value my time at Ferus and would recommend it as an employer.

Everyone stressed out, micro managers and boys club. I heard it was a great company once. Long gone by the time I got there. Poor management will sink a business.
