I worked for fido for about 2 years, the experience with customers was horrible. Customer service always contradicted what was done in store, and customers were always angry due to this which means they were angry with you. Management expects you to choose job over other priorities which means working long hours without any recognition.  The money was great but over time the job can become stressful and hard to balance with everyday life. If you are not performing well you will be made to feel bad even though you also have to deal with a lot of phone and modem swaps which means you aren't able to sell because usually these customers are angry. Management was good, didn't have much issues with them except for time off requests.

I've worked there for two years in a call center, at first I loved the people I've worked with and the managers were kind and motivating but then after a while the company took another turn and began to put way too much pressure on the employees.
a lot left for sick leaves or decided to quit after a while.
It's nice if you're a student and know that it's temporary but for a permanent job, unless you are outside of the call center there isnt much for you there.

The minute you will fail they will point it out for you.

If you want to look stupid for months , apply. The lack of training and the focus on “call quality” is rediculous . The training is short , and not at all complete . You get tossed on the job with very little knowledge on the products and services offered , you really only learn how to look up the procedures in your tools . The softwares used are old and obsolete, and the new ones never work properly. As for technical issues , get ready to have lots of them . It’s a pain to deal with on a daily.

working at fido was fun and challenging. My co-workers and i Would  challenge each other everyday to make a certain amount of sales and we would put all our best efforts to complete the challenges that were given.

The hardest part was trying to beat one another in making the most sales in the day.

Honestly Fido and Rogers is the best company I’ve worked for, and I’ve worked a lot of sales jobs! The management is great, area manager and Head office are always pleasant! Pay is very competitive and they even offer benefits to part time staff! It is retail so shift work can be inconvenient at times, but I don’t mind it at all. There’s always room to grow and Fido takes care of us!

Excellent work experience for a first timer. The work environment is fast paced and requires constant presence of mind. Many supportive colleagues and systems for new timers.

Job was very competitive and management was not very helpful. All about the bottom line no matter what had to be done to achieve it. Days were slow in the morning but quickly became busy after 5:00pm

They make you sell credits card and even if you kill it with sales you don’t sell there MC it’s a write up. Not worth working here for the amount of working 

For a student job it's ideal. Working part time was not stressful but direct superiors can be demanding sometimes. Also, the benefits are not amazing.
