What is the best part of working at the company?
Preceptors care for the learning of the placement students. Staff and regular employees are very supportive as well. The environment is warm, and the people are dynamic. It pushes you to perform at your best. I like to be part of this culture. Finlandia is a place where you can show love, sympathy, and genuine care for our elderlies.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When you know that you want to take care of the resident, but the resident refuses. It is quite stressful; however, the GPA approach is my answer to this.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They are warm and welcoming. Ready to answer if you have questions, and a perfect place where you can apply what you have learned. Employees are serious but friendly when it comes to work ethic and caring for our clients and residents.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Checking my residents if they need help. Assuring the care plan is met and if you have any questions, nurses are ready to help.

I only have two complaints, #1 as a single parent working a full-time rotation it is very difficult to work 3 different shifts in a 2-week time span. not to mention my rotation itself was very bad. 
(7 AM to 3 PM from Saturday to Tuesday, Off Wednesday, 3 PM-11 PM  Thursday, Friday. OFF Saturday, START WORK AT 11 PM SUNDAY NIGHT until 7 AM. Continue night shift until Thursday Morning at 7 AM. THEN back to Day shift Saturday.) Write this out on a calendar and let that sink in. I had a 1 day weekend, this is still a rotation and still a problem. The company refused to change it and the Union is useless.

The second complaint is that the place runs on clicks like high school. 

The residents are amazing and the work in assisted living is awesome, you get to build strong connections with your clients which can make it hard when someone passes but it is worth it.

The pay is good. There are some good coworkers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is a lot of pressure from management, and very little support. The collective agreement ratification was done during the time I worked there and it took them five months after I had been gone for my back pay to be sorted out. This is the only job in over twenty years of working that I ever left without lots of notice.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They'll push very hard that it's "like a family" which means that you will likely feel taken advantage of a lot. Some of the coworkers are great, but you'll feel very alone in the workload. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, zero flexibility in hours.

I found that the management at Finlandia treated employees as is they were numbers rather than human beings. There was poor communication on expectations, and poor performance on their part ensuring staff were trained in a safe and timely manner, and because of this and their neglect the resident's safety were sometimes put at risk. I put my blood sweat and tears into doing my part to take care of the elderly here, only for them to spit in my face. I however, had some very amazing coworkers and the residents were a pleasure to work with and to help care for. If only the management cared like they claim to, then the place might not be such a dramatic and hostile work environment. It is unfortunate.

Some of the RNs are bullies. (Some are also great) but the bullies are what gave ot 1 star

No one saying great job ypu worked so hard and never took breaks. But everyone tells you when you missed even something small. And some of the rns want to make sure ypu know they are the boss of you

If you are on the inside click might he good. If not ypu are treated poorly by everyone (management is great though)

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work every second until your shift is done.

Supplied the required materials needed within the kitchen and prepared for meal service. Ensured meals looked appealing, nutritious with proper temperatures and maintained a clean work environment.  Monitored the residents during mealtime, helped with the consummation of food and beverages, guaranteeing each resident received the proper texture of food and diet. Promptly completed the daily paperwork and charting to record meals consumed by each resident.  Performed housekeeping and laundry tasks

i did my clinical placement here. i worked on the alzheimer's unit, and had the greatest experience learning about this disease.  i loved the hands on experience given to me in this establishment. the workers there made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions to the best of their ability. i enjoyed meeting all the residents as everyone on that unit had different levels of dementia and was such an awesome learning experience for me.

They management are very keen about employees welfare.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I never found anything stressful working in finlandia.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very serene environment and no much of cultural discrimination. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work often at night. Sometimes days but it's always awesome 👌

It was fun at first and enjoyed most of it. 
Except for a few employees, there is no team work, everyone talks rudly about everyone. 
They don’t do anything about bullying. 
I expressed concern on many occasions and nothing was done and continued until it became to insults and threats and such. 
In the end its ur job to be a team and do what you can to help and i feel that this place was not a team and aggressive towards each other. 

Very great co workers. Very serious wage issue in certain departments and poor employee acknowledgement, some people have been here 20 years and are only making 20$ An hour…
