What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working here is that I never feel like just a number and I  know that sounds cliché. However, people know my child’s name and birthday, what matters to me, and who I am outside of work.

The company has genuinely invested in my growth and education, and supported me through some very challenging life moments. No matter what’s happening in the business, I feel like my needs and those of my peers are always a priority.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are a lot of moving parts in my role, along with multiple perspectives to balance, which can be challenging at times. However, that’s typical for this type of role, and it reflects the collaborative nature of the organization.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment at Innoflo is fast-paced, collaborative, and very people-focused. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, and people genuinely support each other, it feels like everyone is working toward a common goal rather than operating in silos.

The culture is one of the standout aspects. Employees are valued, and leadership puts effort into creating a positive, engaging environment where people can grow and make an impact. There’s also a real emphasis on learning and development, with opportunities to take on new challenges and expand your skillset.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me is a mix of connecting with people, supporting leaders, and keeping communication flowing across the organization. I spend time meeting with different teams, working on internal communications and culture initiatives, and helping align priorities so everyone has the information they need.

There are always a lot of moving pieces, so part of my day involves prioritizing, problem-solving, and adjusting as things evolve. No two days are exactly the same, which keeps the role interesting and gives me the opportunity to work across many areas of the business.

After a year off from work due to a variety of factors, I was looking for to transition my career path and job type from EPC focused on the construction side of things for 7+ years to the engineering side of things going forward. I wanted to put to use and put into practice my newly acquired P.Eng along with my relevant design experience in Electrical Engineering. In addition, I wanted a company with strong and cooperative work culture, collaborative team efforts with colleagues, and high value placed on employees. I found all of that and much more with Fireball Equipment Ltd. Right from the very first day, I was welcomed and integrated into the company, team, and work environment fostered at Fireball. No one is left behind and no one is considered above anyone else; all employees are considered and treated as equals, and an enormous emphasis is placed on people/the work team. Fireball Equipment Ltd. ended up being the perfect match for what I wanted and was looking for in an employer, work culture, core values, my role and responsibilities, an amazing team of colleagues to work with and learn from, work-life balance, and compensation. 10/10, Highly Recommended Employer.   

My review will likely not do this company justice. When I started working for Fireball Equipment, I was welcomed with open arms into what really felt like a family. I know all employers like to tout that their employees are all part of a family, but this was the first workplace I genuinely felt it. They take great pride & care in their company culture and spare no expense for great team building and social gatherings. 

While I was employed, trust was placed in me to use my professional expertise to make the right decisions. Management was receptive to new ideas and actively made sure that any professional development I needed, I received. I never felt that I needed to wade through layers of bureaucracy to be heard. 

Compensation was extremely competitive, benefits were great, and their HR staff is amazing. The President & General Manager participated in regular performance reviews, going out of their way to praise good work and provide valuable feedback on how they saw me growing within the company. I never felt like a cog in the wheel, I felt like a valued team member, and they let me know it. They also strongly emphasize the importance of work/life balance, and that was really refreshing as a dad of two young children.

I highly recommend Fireball Equipment to anyone considering working for this company.

Flexible working hours starting either at 7am or 8am depending on your choosing. Management does a very good job of making the new hires feel situated, onboarding process features team introductions and working processes. 

From what I have learnt about the workplace culture here, there is a big onus put on "Think like you own it",  which emphasizes thinking like an owner in every role. I think there are great opportunities here to play a hand in the growth of the company, hence leading to growth opportunities for your career as well. 

Most enjoyable part of the job so far is that the staff here are truly welcoming, and always willing to lend a helping hand, for a new hire this is paramount to be set up for success. Hardest part of the job also relates to the "think like you own it" mantra. With agency comes responsibility so definitely be prepared to be accountable, efficient and take initiative as required.  

Overall Innoflo even at 30 years old has great people, great environment, and still growing its footprint across Canada.

You will learn to utilize your organizational skills, to think out side of the box and to rely on your own expertise. This will be the very reason you're hired.  

The company employs amazing talent but, they tend to leave within the first few years due to the culture.

The most challenging part of the job is dealing with a very top-heavy management style which results in a toxic work culture.  HR does not address concerns as they themselves talk about the poor management.  This also results in a lack of good company culture.

There is a clear division between the departments. You will settle into a clique rather quickly.  

The long service award is presented on your 5th year of employment,  this only goes to show you what employee retention is like.

It is rare these days to find an organization that says they are a culture and people first business and then walk the talk, all the way up the org chart. Innoflo has managed to create a positive and engaged staff by supporting them, removing road blocks and always "looking for the good". If something isn't working well, tell a manager, they will likely jump at the opportunity to help improve it. I have had the unique opportunity to work for this organization twice. After leaving to pursue a job in a different industry I was reminded of the amazing colleagues and management team at Innoflo and made the choice to return. This organization also benefits greatly from working with a very diverse range of customers (oil & gas, mining, municipalities, farms, car dealerships, etc). This customer diversity helps provide a stable business through all of the ups and downs in industries to ensure a stable pay cheque always comes in!

I was quiet observer who saw ambitious positive people join the organization and quickly watched their sparkle disappear.  I have seen a few in tears and crying.  I have watched happy people turn into angry people.  The leadership team is very clicky and often behave like a collage frat club.   Those sitting in the boardroom planning change seem to be very disconnected to the reality of what is happening and what is needed.  The young directors seem to been in it for their own glory and think very highly of themselves, yet they show a lack of awareness and appreciation for their talented staff working hard on the front lines.   I was relieved to move on, and I wish the best to the people who are sticking it out. 

This is a workplace where teams are relatively small and very collaborative. Tight knit groups where you work together to build a good culture and reach success together. Teams care about each other, and provide good mentorship for newer engineers. 
A core goal for the company is to build a good culture and to leave people better than they found them. This includes training, internal promotions, opportunity to gain more responsibilities. 
There are some growing pains with the company increasing in size rapidly, and adapting to the industry, but it is a welcomed challenge. Seeing large projects get designed and built in the shop is very rewarding. 

My personal experience is truly nice at Fireball. The company invests  in its employees by providing resources, trainings, and mentorship programs, covering learning courses that empower individuals to advance  in their careers.  Beyond the workplace Fireball is committed to making a positive impact on the community. Through corporate social initiatives and volunteer programs, employees have the opportunity to give back and contribute to meaningful causes, fostering sense of pride and purpose. As for me it is a great place to work due to its supportive culture, commitment to employee development and focus on work-life balance.

I've worked in several multinational companies (>5k employees) over my career, and when difficult times come, you are just a disposable asset. I saw people get laid off even with 25+ years working at the company after a merger/acquisition or market crashes.

At Fireball, the leadership team knows that the greatest value of the company is human capital. 
They look after them supporting and encouraging them to thrive. The working hours are flexible allowing you to take care of your family. balancing work-life / personal-life.
