I worked at Fisher Professional Corporation right after university graduation as a staff accountant for over three years. During my time there, I had great experience with my mentor who’s one of the partners. He fully supported my personal professional goals to become a CPA by giving me work that full of learning experience. Thanks to that, I obtained hands on experience to work on T1, NTR and assurance engagements as well as working experiences with clients from various backgrounds. And I was able to get all required experience to become a CPA. The team was very supportive and always willing to helped me out when I had questions. If you like playing softball, there’s weekly softball games during summer evenings. The working hours were no more than a standard PA firm.

Just not a general nice place to be, the sole focus is on being at your desk early in the morning and late at night. 

Pay is decent, but the work is disorganized (rules and systems are constantly ignored making it impossible to plan workload properly) making it necessary for all the staff (including admin) to work stupid overtime.

Also became very clear after several months that management doesn't care about staff, everything comes down to productivity and hours worked (well beyond normal work hours).

I wouldn't recommend this as a place for anyone who wants a work life balance or chance to move up (because you won't unless you're good with working 10-12 hour days for most of the year).

I have been provided the opportunity to advance my position throughout my employment with the company.
Expectations for professionalism and quality of work are high (as they should be). If you are committed to a career in public accounting, this firm allows one to realize their full potential by providing the opportunity to work directly with senior managers and partners on projects of varying complexities.
Employee turnover rate is significantly lower than industry average. 
Many luncheons and team appreciation events are held during the year.

As a cop-op student Fisher was a welcoming and fun environment to work and grow my accounting skills in. 

You are surrounded with people that are knowledgeable and always happy to lend an ear if you have a question. 

Fisher has created such a warm and team atmosphere inside and outside the office. During my co-op months Fisher completed in a volleyball tournament, weekly trivia, charity events, and in multiple sport leagues. 

Overall my experience was excellent and would highly recommend Fisher Professional Corporation to anyone that is interest in public accounting.

The previous review is correct, the only concern of management is that you work far beyond standard working hours and don't expect to get anything in recognition of this. Having worked at other firms that at least promote staff evens or bring in meals when mandatory overtime is put in place.

No room for upward mobility as the senior staff are entrenched and have already shown they care more about working hours than family or friends.

Great CPA firm to gain experience and grow a career. Large enough that there is a large variety of projects and room to advance, small enough to not be segregated into a department only doing one type of accounting. The staff, managers and partners clearly enjoy their work. 

They’re just bunch of liars… say one thing and when you’re in you see the exact opposite! 
The managers are not willing to help.
Not enough training and resources to make you feel comfortable and confident on the job.
All the staff there look depressed. The only people allowed to laugh and be happy are the managers. 

The workplace atmosphere was great! As a new employee I often had many questions and there was always someone to help me. The management was amazing and made the hiring process as smooth as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would recommend this job to anyone looking.

Terrible training, I was assigned a mentor, but was never given that information. I was disappointed when I was held to a standard that I wasn't taught. My performance review went great, I was given a raise 3 months before being let go for missing time due to COVID issues. 

Great place to work with a warm and welcoming culture. Management and Peers are always willing to help and provide guidance. Good on-boarding training with the partner that provide a clear example of what was expected while employed there.
