During my time at the company, I observed several cultural and leadership challenges that significantly impacted employee morale and retention. Leadership tended to reward agreement over constructive feedback, making it difficult for capable team members to contribute meaningfully when their perspectives diverged from the majority. This created an environment where critical thinking and innovation were not always encouraged.

While HR maintained a progressive public image, in practice I often felt unsupported during key moments when fairness and transparency were most needed. This disconnect was disheartening and led to a lack of trust in the systems designed to support employees.

Despite strong commitment and consistent performance from many team members, recognition was minimal. Career growth often seemed driven more by internal politics than by merit or measurable contribution.

Additionally, the demands of the role left little room for work-life balance, which over time affected my mental well-being and that of colleagues around me. Sustaining this pace long term felt unrealistic without adequate support or structural change.

I share this feedback in the hope that it contributes to building a more sustainable and empowering culture for future employees.

Here is my experience in 3 years as a maintenance technician in Fit Foods :

Pros :
1 - Good colleagues in the production plant, everybody helps each other and friendly workplace.
2 - Clean and family-oriented workplace.
3 - The company provides all the safety equipment you need.
4 - Approachable managers and supervisors.
5 - Flexible Overtimes.

Cons :
1 - Lots of unnecessary stress and tensions
2 - You have to be very patient for advancement almost 0 chance
3 - Annual evaluations for raises are just formal and no one cares about your performance. everyone gets the same raises
4 - Pay is much below the job market average in most positions.

Overall, a good place to start a Canadian Job and especially for people who desperately looking for a job like newcomers and with a plan to quit after a while to have a chance to work for a good company with advancement opportunities (like Mcdonald's).
I think they are also looking for people in the same situations and they don't want or support ambitious or growing people, simply they want to keep it like that, no growth, no fall.

 During my work there Safety is exaggerated , slow down the operations, the job for one workers could be dkne by one worker, one person work and the other two are watching, thet want to driver forklifts like rookies, stop in every empty intersection,honk, if if pass a couple inches of the line, they will fire you, even if there is nobody,stupid, if you raise forks and move to adjust few inches , the fire you, The person who approve forklift driver, has been certified in an 8 hrs course and never drive a forklift to judge people that drive forklift 20 o 30 years in Vancouver warehouses.
Very stupid I have never thing something so dumb, 
The dont care about KPI, productivity, In that place nobody want to use forklift because of this OHS lead hand

Awesome. I worked in admin for a while and it still remains to be one of the best jobs that I’ve had. Let me start off by saying the work is not easy but management ensures that you are never overwhelmed or swamped. I found they were all very understanding with personal needs and private matters as well as being incredibly organized and up to date. I made some close friends working there and had never once felt judged or looked down upon by any of the staff regardless of their position. Working here really gave me a sense of direction and opened a lot of doors for me career wise. You will find management is extremely interested and engaged in your future and is more than willing to provide you with schooling if you wish to branch out or advance within the company no matter your age. 

So you are hired immediately if you pass their math test, can lift heavy loads and are too smart to work there.  However, once the year end inventory is done with lots of overtime.  The hourly wage is so low, cannot just have this job to survive.  Understaffed for many reasons, low pay for ALL the work expected and NOW that employer has to pay all the health tax time to cut staff.  Very underhanded management.

Interview process was impersonal pushy, rude. Overall inconsiderate management. Would not recommend working here or at other similar locations. With a wage of $19-22 they ask for 40+ years fully experienced workers without the willingness to train or the patience to let anyone learn. I feel this positionwill stay open.. Most employers can easily beat their company's incentives and rates not to mention being respected, which you will not be here.

One of the standout aspects of my time at Fit Foods was the remarkable team dynamic. Everyone I've worked with was both professional and approachable. The cohesive dynamic within the team surely made every workday enjoyable. 
Work-life balance is also well recognized here. The team had provided various options for flexible work arrangements. My manager always prioritized the well-being of the team, whether it be adjusting schedules to accommodate personal commitments or offering hybrid work opportunities.

Fit Foods is a great company to work for. The people are friendly, supportive, and create a positive work culture where everyone feels valued. The company truly recognizes and takes care of talented employees, offering solid opportunities for career growth and development.

When I started working here I thought that I will find a typical old family system, but was the opposite. People are great, the environment it's great, everybody is supportive, friendly, collaborative. It's amazing to have the chance to work here. The management's always open to hearing new ideas, discussing processes, and improving to be better.
Happiness is on the base of the culture that it's great!
