The staff members at Fit4Less have consistently demonstrated professionalism, friendliness, and a genuine passion for fitness. They are always available to provide assistance, answer questions, and offer guidance on workout routines and equipment usage. I have also such awesome manager.

Fit4Less also understands the importance of community and offers opportunities for members to connect and support one another. The facility hosts various events and challenges throughout the year, fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouraging members to push their limits.

Working as a Fit4Less host has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I started, I was welcomed into a supportive and dynamic team. The primary responsibilities include greeting and assisting members, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the facility, and providing support for various gym operations. The job is perfect for those who enjoy interacting with people and have a passion for fitness.

One of the highlights of the role is the opportunity to build relationships with gym members. Being the first point of contact, I get to know regulars and help new members feel comfortable. The customer service aspect is fulfilling, as I handle inquiries, manage memberships, and promote gym services and programs.

Maintaining the gym’s cleanliness and equipment is a significant part of the job, which I find satisfying. It's great to see members enjoying a safe and tidy environment, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently.

I keep seeing hosts/former hosts say that their management is terrible, (which is to be expected as all experiences are different) but the team I have the privilege of working with are by far the best I met in my career. Our location manager is kind and caring for each of her hosts, and gym members. Not only that but somehow it feels like family. The fellow hosts I work alongside are friendly, caring. You think of something positive and they almost always have it. 
As for the work experience, I find that it can either be stress free but also stressful depending on how you decide to perform. Yeah yeah, there are people who say “minimum wage for minimum work” which is fair in hindsight, but there will be moments in your career as a host when you are alone and helping several members at once, and for that you NEED to be prepared. You need to know pretty much all of your duties as a host like the back of your hand for these situations, but once you do, it becomes very self rewarding.
Amazing experience. It saved my life and I truly am in debt to the people that hired me and pulled me out of a dark place.

I was nice until we were extremely taken advantage of. Cutting the cleaners, and demanding us to take over all the cleaning jobs for no extra pay or benefits. Also now we're bouncers too. Telling our already irritated members to put on their mask. We have to chevk their vaccine passport every single time, even if their a regular and you know their vaccinated. A typical day at work involves cleaning the disgusting toilets with cotton cloths that we have to hand clean at the end of the day. Dealing with frustrated members and hearing them complain about everything. Finding out your coworker isn't showing up for another 2 hours after their shift starts. So, now you can't go to the washroom until they get there because you have to sty at the front desk. Oh yeah, and even if they do show up, they will just sleep in the office. Awesome. 
I will say the hours were nice. Pretty flexible.  

I experience anxiety and depression from time to time, if you relate I'm sure you understand the anxious feeling when it comes to finding a job. Let alone consistently needing to be present and focused. I have had a hard time keeping jobs however, I can picture myself working here for years. 
This job is very relaxing when you need it to be, but if you're in a productive mood there's plenty to do. The people that typically work at gyms can range dramatically from lazy to studying the whole shift. 
Hours here are interesting, typically they are 5 hours long or the odd 7 on weekends. Some people work full time, others don't. 
The only con I would consider complaining about would be managment and the blatant favoritism. However, this depends greatly on your manager and is easily ignorable. 
Over all this has been my favourite job yet and the easiest on my mental health. 

Working as a Host at Fit4Less provided me with valuable experience in customer service, facility management, and teamwork. I was responsible for greeting members, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone who entered the gym. I handled daily tasks such as sanitizing equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting members with their questions or concerns. This role required excellent time management, communication skills, and attention to detail. I also supported new member sign-ups and provided quick walkthroughs of the gym’s amenities, promoting a positive first impression. Being part of a health-focused team allowed me to contribute to creating a safe and inclusive fitness space. I learned how to manage responsibilities independently while also collaborating with coworkers to keep operations running smoothly. Overall, my time at Fit4Less helped me build strong interpersonal and organizational skills that I can apply to future roles in customer service and beyond.

As far as a gym goes, it is decent.
Being a GM of my own assigned location put me in a management role but there was very little care for the a total employees just pretending to 'care' from Head Office.
The old saying, 'pay people peanuts, you will get monkeys' applied here. My staff were awesome as were our clients but Head Office getting involved in anything was a real joke. They don't care about people, just the almighty dollar. Everyone above the individual locations are just checked out except the poor Regional Managers....stuck between a rock and a hard place. The turnover for RM's was embarrassing and therefore why would anyone strive to move up.....you simply would not or you will be gone within a year or two.
All in all they do not have staff st Head Office with the education to manage such a huge business and the make work projects were plentiful to give them some credibility....but the club level just shook our heads.

I was so exited to start this job and be able to greet members and sell memberships. What I did not expect was to be a glorified janitor that got paid s**t all. All you do is clean clean clean the entire time and if you don’t a member will report you to management! I even got in trouble for eating a granola bar during my shift but we don’t get breaks so what was I suppose to do starve? Be carful the members will rat on you if you even think about standing still for a second. Management is a joke and the hosts practically run the place by themselves. You are left alone for many hours on end and expected to be cleaning the entire gym while also managing the desk. Shifts are terrible and will be booked in for a 2 hr shift which is a joke. Multiple girls have complained about creepy men making comments or staring and management does nothing about it. Please if you want to keep your will to live do not work here. -10 points.

Having to complete tasks outside of job duties without working alongside any other associates

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
In my experience, the culture felt cliquey and somewhat unwelcoming at times. I noticed favoritism and inconsistent leadership practices, which made the environment feel less aligned with the company’s “judgement free” messaging. Prior to a recent peel/mississauga regional leadership change, I hadn’t experienced these concerns. I would encourage stronger oversight and a more transparent management approach to ensure all staff feel respected and supported.

Let me tell you about a place in he** called Fit4Less. I joined expecting a host job and interacting with people, but I was not prepared for the majority of the job which is cleaning. For minimum wage we are doing a janitors job, without the proper pay. Management is the biggest joke of 2023, none of them care about you and there are many times where you are left by yourself during busy times and understaffed. Members yell at you and cause you unnecessary stress. Creepy men prey on girls and make them uncomfortable, and upper management doesn't like to deal with those issues. They cut hours significantly to the point where there is a 3 hour shift, which isn't worth it for minimum wage. If you like your mental health don't you dare come here to work.
