Flaman sales Nisku has the potential to be an incredible company. They have fantastic benefits and the company as a whole seems to have good intentions. However, the way the administrative department is run is extremely unprofessional. Your success at the company is based on who you're friends with. Hardly any training is provided and asking questions is made to seem inconvenient. Expectations are unclear and often contradictory between different levels of management, and employees suffer for it. 
The department manager lacks leadership and interpersonal skills, she was very unapproachable if you had any questions or concerns. She often talked poorly about employees to her non-managerial friends within the company, this included gossip as well as official business such as confidential performance evaluations. Preferential treatment was often given to those within the manager's clique. 
Upper management was unwilling to address issues within the department.

Flaman over the years has been an awesome place to work. Staff bbq's weekly, staff functions like ball games with food and bevies supplied , with lots of laughs and good memories.  One bad apple can spoil the complete overall environment and they have one working as thier operations manager in nisku. It feels like People are disposable and even though an employee had been there over 20 years longer than himself , that devoted employee was demoted in a very disrespectful way , and treated differently than others , with what seems like making this employee move on and quit.  If you don't laugh at his jokes that are inappropriate and borderline harassment you won't be around for long. Don't ever expect a raise, those are not happening. 
Operations manager thinks its a totally acceptable joke to threaten your job in various ways on many different occasions, to many different people sometimes on the same day. 

9:30 - 6:00 typical hours. 
Wifi provided workplace. 
Answering customer phone calls and following up. 
Call sheets. 
Instagram / Facebook / Kijiji posts. advertise advertise advertise! 
Faxing.
Financing forms. 
Inventory maintenance.
Handling in store and over the phone transactions. 
Every third business day a bank deposit is completed.
Make sure the till is a float. 
End of the month paper work.
Sale presentation. ( Home Gyms, Cardio Equipment, Medical Care)
Receiving inventory. (Inventory check list / Packing the back of the store / crate / Shelf organization ) 
Store clean up. Vacuum / Equipment Wipe down / Garbage disposal 

Don't like the fact that commission is held till the end of the year. 
Only one pay day a month as well. last business day of the month.

I worked here for almost 7 years. A typical day at work would be organizing/cleaning, catching up on pending orders to make sure stock is at the store ready to go for deliveries and pickups. Dealing with customers recommending products based on their fitness needs.  I learned a lot about my personal sales style and how effective I can be. The management is alright, they are all nice people, I just think the strategy used in Ontario was not something that would set them up for long term success. There are too few popular brands, and most competitors have the same brands but other options also, which makes it about price for the customer. Overall I did really enjoy the day to day of the job, met lots of great people, some who I am still in contact with. I would recommend working here 

This company claims to be a family company but they actually don't care about you. All they care about is making money. They do not care about their employees health. They over work their employees and underpay them. Like the other reviews say... there is a hierarchy. If you are not in that group you can expect to never get promoted or get raises. This company is also stuck in their ways. They do not want to do better as a company... they do the same old thing they have for 20+ years, even if there are better ways to do it. They are not open to change. Don't bother giving ideas to change either. They will act like they will look into changing but really just ignore everything you say.

My time with Flaman Fitness allowed me to build some lifelong friendships and taught me a lot about the fitness industry. I met many individuals who had positive attitudes about living a healthy and active lifestyle, and there was a great work-life balance during my time there. I feel that there is potential to earn a good income depending on your selling ability and the relationships you build with your customers. Management was also very supportive and helped out with sales strategies and ideas for keeping up with the industry competition. It was a great experience overall!

If you are tired of " fast paced cultures and need a break  I recommend working here. they were busy but it felt manageable as the work was properly timed to an all day steady pace. Very little  "we need this out yesterday". I was sad to leave there but I was accustomed to a much higher wage and left for that reason only. 
The people I worked with were great and managers were approachable and easy to get along with.
The hardest part would have been the lifting of some of the equipment up and down stairs. If you are wanting to be a service tech you will need a strong body as there is some heavy lifting.

To many people have been there to long and run it how they want not how the company as a whole runs things 


Flaman fitness could be the best job if they had more stability either they hire people how are there to workout and have a staff discount or people that have or know very little in fitness world

Busy store, management could use some work. Needed more than one associate at each location. Workload for one person at each store was too much. Answering the phones and helping customers... customers were lost because they weren’t able to be attended to. 

people are easy to deal with. Co workers are quite helpful for any tasks that is needs.
Owner of Calgary Franchise is a top notch would highly recommend.

Owner always have your back as long as your doing what is the best interest for the company.
