I worked at FMI Tillsonburg for approximately 10 weeks in 2013. It was my first factory job and I loved it. I learned how to set up robotic cells, meet deadlines. The supervisors on my shift were phenomenal and great to work with. Most of the staff were helpful and made you feel like family. However, upper management are extremely petty, and very rude to people they find beneath them. They don't like to follow procedures, if you are not full-time you are the first person to be blamed and walked out. One production worker has cost at least 7 people their jobs of just being plan petty, and nasty. The hardest part of the job is the stress from petty, full-time workers and the constant bullying from upper management. If you are a temp you are held to a higher standard and expected to perform better and pull more than the required 85% daily production rate. Where as full-time just has to pull 85%. You are expected to follow all protocols and company policies, but full-time not so much.

Fleetwood doesn't support their production staff, management and office workers live in their own 40 hr work week bubble and have zero clue what happens outside of their offices because most of them refuse to ever leave their office. Which leads to them being "shocked" when all their good employees keep quitting due to the horrible environment.

The people on the floor are great to work with, you get the odd selfish worker who hates everyone but that's everywhere. 

Lead hands and supervisors are manipulative and play employees off of each other, especially midnight shift in E-Coat. 

There's 2 factories inside one factory, it's production and E-Coat, if in E-Coat most of the plant despises you and looks down on you, maintenance doesn't want to deal with you. The line itself is horribly maintained due to the amount of OT work being done, they expect their Operators to work 7 days a week to keep it going.

If you want a solid pay cheque go here but expect to be treated like garbage. 

Daily work was heavy and fast paced. I learned how to program the robotic welders and how to bar code and receive incoming and out going shipments. Management in Otterville was great, supervisors were helpfull and friendly, Tillsonburg was another story. Management and Supervisors in Tillsonburg were rude, abusive and uncaring as to how the employees doing. Co-workers for the most part were pretty good and I tried to get along with everyone. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the stress and pressure to meet deadlines. The most enjoyable part of the job was making some very good friends.

If you know how to work in a team and use your brain, it's not a bad place. Press dept has decent grown-up people and the work is ok if youre willing to bust your butt a little. Pay and benefits are great. If you want overtime it's there but sometimes the mandatory ot is too much. Could use better accommodations such as proper lunch rooms and smoking area, lockers, etc. As with anywhere else management could do better. Still better than other places I've worked though

I don't mind my job but not the most desirable life. I enjoy working with the people I've met in there. Alot of them have become like family to me. The management is lacking with alot of pass the buck going on. They don't do much towards keeping their employees happy considering all the O/T we constantly get mandated for.

A typical day at work was staring at 7am and finishing up around 3pm. We had to move fast and efficiently. I learned multiple different car parts and how to build them, as well as to us a spot welder. My co-workers were great friendly and helpful, Management was there to listen no matter what the problem. The hardest part of my job was to learn all the desired parts of the vehicles in such a short period of time. I most enjoyed the people that I worked with.

Fleetwood is a great place to work. Management appreciates someone who is willing to work hard, and goes above and beyond what is expected. There are many opportunities for advancement for anyone who is willing to work toward it, and Fleetwood often tries to fill new positions within the company. New plant manager is fantastic, and benefit package is amazing.

Good group of co-workers, steady work, basic factory work

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The safety protocols are a little over the top however not completely invasive 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The departments are divided without much communication (high school like)

Work load was good.  Enjoyed the work I did, Gained experience in the shipping/receiving area, along with creating barcodes and labels for customers.  Aiding customers and logistics companies with area's of concern and packaging concerns.  Ability to work in a fast paced environment and ability to work independently and in a group setting.

It’s so bad they are not organized at all you have overtime every Saturday they put on one job instead of training other people to do it to they lead are mean they don’t let you speak at all they just cut you off when you try to explain the situation they care more about there parts then there workers they are so many better jobs out there
