A typical day at work always starts with a friendly joke and some needed coffee in the morning. I like to organize my day with writing orders from the computer that needs to be done through the day. Also call and follow up with appts (like where they need to go and what time) 

Ive learnt so much through the years but the one thing that stands out to me the most is that you have to write everything down no matter if you think that you know that you will remember everything you wont. Its also good to write everything down because you can prioritize what needs to be done now as to oppose to later through the day.

Management I feel has been very informative on certain changes and likes to engage in team meetings to get everyone involved and informed.

I love how our workforce culture is so diverse. Its so refreshing to have all different opinions and personalities that I would say can also help myself to be more adaptable, open minded and respect every aspect of it. 

I would say the hardest part of the job is seeing family coming in if their loved one has passed. Its hard to see but i know that I still have to keep professional. 

The most enjoyable part of this job is the people  that i work with. Their like a family with great communication with their employees. I love that we have pot lucks and organize fun work parties even road trips.

Preparation and administration of radioactive pharmaceuticals 
•Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures to produce images for diagnosis
•Nuclear Medicine Research studies and procedures for Trial purposes  
•Patient care experience in an advanced Acute care Hospital 
•Diagnostic CT procedures for Image interpretation 
•Nuclear Medicine Therapy administration and post Therapy Imaging 
•Preparation of radiopharmaceuticals kits for patient administration 
•Perform laboratory tests on Radioactive samples 
•Quality control and Quality assurance on all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT equipment

Worked at the Foothills Medical Center for a few years on a very busy unit . In spite of the craziness, staff were committed and we rewarded with the best possible patient outcomes. I had a chance of 
 trying my hand at leadership for several months even though reluctantly at first. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. The leadership role was quite intimidating but as long as I focused on priorities, not neglecting personal development and fostering health working relationships which included conflict resolution a lot was achieved. We were treated to pizza days every week. Great place to work at. Committed Staff. Totally loved my work

Lot's to do, not enough staff. Given the current situation of COVID there is a staff shortage. You will have a great job and benifits, the pay is also really good. If you like medical stuff then go ahead and apply for jobs, you will need some background education in medicine. It is a good sense of purpose and you feel like you are helping someone to get better. You are part of a union and job security is almost guaranteed. Especially since we need more people.

Having to deal with ungrateful people and a ton of unnecessary walking

Very task oriented work place. Everyone had specific jobs and had to make sure everything was done precisely. Because we worked in the Health Record department, any misplaces files had consequences. Everything was chronological and everyone had to work together so that every stayed in order. There were many downsides to this job because it felt like they were picking on me. But otherwise a it was a well paying job.

it was a multicultural experience at work. our NICU team was very supportive. we have extra curricular activities, residents treat annually. We enjoyed pot luck. At the end of every year we have jeopardy games.
I learned how to work in canadian health care system as a team.

The nurse shortage impacts the employee work environment and patient care.
Good regular work hours, no shift work.


my job here was a great career starter. but its gets repetitive and can be boring at times. ived worked with a lot of great and not so great people, but i guess that all like other jobs out there.
