Fort Hills

To be honest, this job site and scope were massive, this is the biggest project in the oilfield so far in Canadian history I believe... Now that being said it took an incredible amount of time, resources, energy, money and manpower to complete. The project was a success and is up and operating today so an amazing feat in itself.

Many resources for the employees to learn and advance from. Potential for growth within the company if they feel like you are a perfect fit. Camp only position, so if you don't like being away from your family this wouldn't be a good fit even if you live locally to Fort McMurray.

See Title IT sucks people were put in positions they knew nothing about. Had a foreman who couldn't read prints, and then was let go a couple days later because they finally realized it. People look out for each other when you can and when you were liked.

Plan has a lot of work still available which is always great. Journeyman workers were willing to teach apprentices. Hardest part of the job would be that some areas are really tight and you have to stay there until you are finished.

Not a bad workplace. Very long bus rides, 12hr pay/day actually close to 14hr after bus ride. Camps are nice, coworkers friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend this work place to another technician.

typical large job with large company, you are a number. Too many issues to list from camp, to bussing, to flights. Suncor does nothing to improve things. Contractor refuses to care about it's people, etc...

I enjoyed my crew and my leaders.  Great experience and great accommodations.  Great people staying in camp, friendly and respectful.  Great meals for healthy choices.

Busy place to work at every day. Rotation is very flexible if need be for this company. They tend to be accomadating to any personal situation for individuals.

the workplace was safe and people participated in identifying hazards. workers helped each other to work safe. I would recommend this company for employment

Companies come and go from this site faster than anywhere else I’ve ever seen. If you want to work for 2-6 months then get laid off then come work at fort hills for suncor!
