Fortress Security

A typical day at work would sometimes begin at night, where I would travel to a site given to me by my supervisor. I would secure the premiss and examine the people who entered the facilities for authorization. Some night I would work at a nightclub, checking identification and doing some crowd control. I learned that a few words can go a long way to diffuse a potentially hostile situation. I usually worked alone, with little to no interaction with co-workers. The hardest part of the job was staying awake during night shifts. The most enjoyable aspect was the flexible hours.

Hours were weekends, 10-3am standing in whatever weather so you had to be prepared. You can spend 30 minutes to an our and a half commuting and trying to find parking (which was never validated by the company).Management was always unorganized, who goes where? whats the plan tonight? you haven't been paid yet? very unprofessional and intimidating. Not much preparation and no bathroom breaks! It was fun meeting new people but everyone is drunk or on illegal substances its not a very safe job, always kept on high alert.

Where i work with the company is a restaurant. It is a very easy location as it is only during the weekend (friday night and saturday night). I have done other locations such as condo's and clubs. The only thing that i would say negative is the time of the shift which is 12:30 a.m to 5:30 a.m. It's very hard on the body to do those kinds of hours especially when you are not used to it. I have learned a lot with the company. It is not just to find someone and kick them off of the property you are working at, but as well to make conversation and be friendly with others.

I enjoyed working with Fortress. A lot of the other employees were professional. My supervisor was easy to speak with and never forced hours that I couldn't work. In fact they would present the hours that needed to be covered and what the exact job would be (door, bar, floater, backroom etc.), and if you were available it was yours. Very professional and easy to get along with.

Work at this company if you want to get paid peanuts and treated less than human. I recommend the mangers take a course in business ethics and management as they clearly do not know what they are doing. 

As for getting paid...... good luck! Keep records of all work communications whenever possible. Protect yourself from pay issues!

The job involved searching patrons entering the clubs.  IT could get tiring with all the bending involved. Gets difficult as the weather gets colder as the searchers are out in the cold. Hardest part is dealing with the guys who want to rub up against security.

the great thing about working for fortress is that one can work different venues until the right fit is found for both the security guard and site. there's long hours but since the pay is hourly this could benefit some but be a burden for others.

The more u work d more u earn I made like 6000 1 fort nite so I will recommend this job u anyone looking for quick cash there routine was like 2 days day 2 days night 2 days off I used to work nights only hours is 6am to 6pm 6pm to 6am

Fortress was a great place to work. The management was great, and respected all the workers. The work was fast paced and bit stressful but it would make work go by a lot faster.
