A typical day at work for forum research is me coming in a half hour before work, hanging out with friends in the lounge before our starting shift. Once the shift is set to begin, everyone gets straight to work. We are required to survey people over the phone about certain things, sometimes about politics, school or even cellphone companies. The main thing I learned working at Forum research is how to keep my cool and stay patient with people because a lot of the people we deal with over the phone are usually very difficult just because they usually feel like the surveys are a waste time, therefore we have to do everything in our power to make sure they stay on the phone. The majority of the time the people hang up the phone or even swear at us. Well I don't know really know much of my co-workers because we're not really allowed to speak to each other during work because we're strictly on the phone, so there isn't really time for socializing, and a lot of people take their breaks at different times. The hardest part of the job is keeping the person you're speaking on the phone because once the survey gets long, they start to get irritated and rude, and don't feel like completing the survey anymore. To be quite honest, there isn't really anything that I do enjoy about the job, because we don't really do much besides speaking to people on the phone.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Easy to get hired, pay ok if you are looking to boast your income, training is not the allotted time they say. You are thrown on calls after first day of training. You want to harass people? Then this job is for you!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The calls. Intros are so long, I felt like the person behind the call received. You are reading a script, until you are just as tired of hearing yourself than the customer.

Long, boring, and drained. 4 hours seems like 5 days

The position you hold at Forum Research is dependent on the market survey projects. As long as Forum Research continues to receive market survey project orders from clients, such as phone surveys, field surveys, or web surveys, your position will remain secure. However, if there are no new projects and the current project comes to an end, you may be let go. While working, you may notice that the project lead has been with the company for several years, while junior employees who perform similar duties to yours have a higher turnover rate when they leave.

A research consultant requires you place calls in order to conduct surveys directed to a specific research groups.  I focused on asking questions as I inputted information into a database.

While working at Forum Research for three months, many people came and went in a short period of time.  Many position within the call centre were entry level positions with low pay and the company had a high turn over rate.

I dislike poor management skills such as miscommunication about job expectations.

I am an introvert  so I don't really think this job is meant for me.I find it to be very boring at times.After a month of working there, I was completely drained.'ve been working for forum for 6 months now and my feelings still haven't changed.You have to say the same thing over and over again.So of you don't like talking, this isn't the job for you.

You can choose your own hours and amazing management.

It’s a really nice job but sometimes it can be hard dealing with rude respondents.

They're working remotely for now, so that's a good point if you don't want to go anywhere to work. When you get nice projects to work on time flies by fast, and you feel like it's very easy, at least until you get a bad project. You learn to be very patient with this job, some days are harsher than others. Overall, it's not a bad place to work, but the stress I got from having some people scream at me and be paid only minimum wage for it? Not worth it

Typical at work you would begin taking calls immediately, and depending on the given survey , you may be more relaxed waiting for an accepted call or you will be working faster when many calls are accepted. I learned many communication skills and my typing speed increased significantly. I most enjoyed the employees and supervisors being kind in any situation.

It is the great and quite place to work.
I really enjoy working there and supervisors are very helpful.
Great ambience and nice staff.
My typical day was when I was not able to complete my calls because of fever.
This is my best job that I have done and I have learnt many things from their like How to talk on phone calls and how to be patient.
The hardest part is to convince respondent to be on call please.

Worked for Forum Research for about 4 years and always had supportive staff and mentors throughout my stay. Lots of room to advance especially in Saskatchewan. I gained lots of experience and knowledge that I know will help me in the future.
