I loved the product at the store I worked at, but my manager consistently kept breaking the rules by coming in 3-5 hours late for her shifts everyday. When I reported her to HR it was only two weeks before I was let go without reason except for it was in my three months and they legally are allowed to.

I was consistently in the top 3 for sales in my store and top 10 for assistant managers in our district so my performance was above expectations yet I was still let go. I had super high hopes for this job and I felt like the manager didn’t bother to give me a chance because I wouldn’t let her come in late like she used to. If there were any performance issues my manager never once pulled me aside to address them so I was completely blindsided. 

In my time there I also witnessed my manager hire two external candidates to fill keyholder positions when we had people on our team that were there over 5 years. They don’t care about their employees or providing them with any job advancement. 

This company will burn you for trying to follow the rules, won’t provide you with any job advancement, and expect zero communication from your manager.

The people you work with are really gonna make or break your time here the Job itself isn’t anything you haven’t seen before, but management can have some extremely unrealistic expectations, and when those expectations aren’t met and some stress gets in the mix, best believe management is gonna take it out on the people below down the food chain. 
The core of the business is inherently flawed and I do see the business not improving and staying stagnant unless they decide to do some serious changes. 

But if you can separate away from that culture and cultivate a positive environment for yourself it will for sure be a good stepping stone for better opportunities

A typical day at work is mostly up to you - your attitude and conversational skills will drive sales. Busy times, such as Christmas, you will have to help multiple customers out at the same time. I learned every detail of watches and an intro into actual watch making. Most co-workers turned into friends and managment felt like family. The hardest part of the job is pushing for a sale when you need it the most. The most enjoyable part of the job is just creating a friendly, energetic, and fun environment for your team and customers.

It is a very high-end brand that was established in Texas, US. 
The branch at Halifax( where I worked) is actually the highest performing store in North America hence has very high standards.
They expect alot from the employees. There are sales goals even though the job is not commission based and sometimes you may feel a little tensed having to go through evaluations all the time.

Fun place to work, basic retail. The people are fantastic and management is solid. Much like any other sales-based high end retail, there is a lot of emphasis on KPIs and performance. At times this can seem tedious and inconsequential, as we do not make commission. Our hours are based on performance, however this sort of goes out the window in my experience. The pay is standard but you would expect more from the brand, especially as stated we don't make commission. 

Retail isn’t known for being the best place to work but Fossil was by far is the best company I’ve worked for. They’re considerate of your work/life balance, their considerate and inclusive of all types of people and backgrounds and they are actively trying to do their best for the environment.

It was a pleasure working here. Management is very understanding and cooperative. The team got along extremely well and we were provided with constructive feedback that really helped us improve on our performance 

It was an anxiety g workplace to be in. I learned a lot about advertising, merchandising, sales (B2B, Inside Sales/Marketing), Communications and some small tech work, with regards to repairs of watches. I did all the shipping and courier duties, as well as some telecommunication with other areas of the company. I would love to go back. 

Typical retail job, the SM had favorites, didn't give recognition, and took credit for ideas and work achieved.

I am a full time university student, therefore school is demanding time-wise. My employer understands my situations and when I need to take time off for certain things. Generally it is a very positive work environment, and I have learned a few things working with Fossil.
