Francis-Winspear-Centre-For-Music

The Winspear has an excellent front-of-house system. There are always managers you can talk to for issues, they give you lots of food and snacks during training sessions, and are flexible with timing and schedules. You get a chance to do everything, trained or not - ushering to ticket-taking to bartending, etc. The atmosphere is super friendly and working in the evenings relieves a lot of stress. You get to hear good music, too, and there are many opportunities to be yourself and take care of yourself here.

To be honest, I have worked here for 2+ years now and it is really good for my mental health to be here. It's fast-paced, but you have someone on your side no matter what. We all look out for each other, and end up having as good of a time as the guests.

I feel like managers are really good at recognizing hard work and effort and promotion is possible for anyone doing a great job.

Sometimes there aren't many shifts available during breaks in programming, but it's great as part-time evening work. You do have to wear a uniform but they can help you coordinate that. Also, you receive tips.

i work here i have nothing else to say: The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is a performing arts centre located in the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Opened in 1997, it is the home of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Great place to work. Staff and managers are great. Only con is pay, but its a great part time job with awesome perks. I would highly recommend!! Great for students.
