Fraser International College

It was a rainy in the early morning. I have gathered around all the New International Students and gave them confidence and assurance about their future at the college. I have also gave them a tour around the SFU campus at Burnaby which was entertaining. The hardest part of the job was we were all soaked in rain and was difficult to walk during the tour. The most enjoyable for me was meeting new people from different cultures and play ice breaker games.

For a private university, the pay is good and there is a high degree of academic freedom. But you cannot count on getting enough classes to survive each semester, and there is no transparency from management about why some instructors (in a particular subject) receive 5+ classes while others receive only 1 or 2.

It is a fun volunteering experience as we get to know more about troubleshooting technogically related items and increase our communication skills. It also made my references more efficient by building up more contacts with greater knowledge to do work as a team .

There was an interview, where I met with people who already had experience with the task at hand. There were two days of training involved to prepare the tasks to be performed on the job. The job itself lasted about half a day and it was a very wonderful experience.

nice friendly and fun co workers. getting to pick your day of work. also you get paid weekly and also get free work gears. the hardest part of the job is obviously lifting heavy and the enjoyable part is having to work with nice people

FIC prepared me for being an orientation leader. They gave me enough time to rehearse and practice my role to the new international students. They kept me boosted throughout the process and I appreciate their efforts.

The best thing about FIC is its culture.
They have a great program and my supervisor was a very kind person.
I would recommend working in FIC to anyone who likes lots of interactions with their co-workers.

good place to start work experience, it helps us build interpersonal skills along with communication skills for individual growth and success. It creates a base for team work experiences.

It is a great opportunity for me to work over there. I have been given chance to work with some known face, which allowed me to work hard. Never felt that this job was boring. This is really full of fun.

the Fraser International College is a good school if u are having open minded. since there are more than 80% of Chinese students, u will make a lot of chinese friend when u graduate.
