Fraserway RV

Worked there for 2 year as full time and came back 2 time for summer jobs different positions. 
Started off as a detailer. Detailing is very very repetitive and you aren't really a detailer, you are more of a glorified cleaner at best. The sales manager is considered the manager of detail and although they are a great sales manager, they are an awful detail manager, as they maybe came back to check up on detail 2 time in the 2 year I was a detailer. They have a history of hiring awful detail supervisors. They seem like they dont care about detail and just want to past their responsibilities to the supervisor and have nothing to do with detail. The people you work with within detail can make the job fun or can make the job very unpleasant. 
I was also the lot attendant for 2 summers. Lot attendant can be a very fun job, you get to drive large equipment and move expensive rv's around which not everyone can do. They are very understanding if you damage a unit as accidents do and will happen. Although it can get pretty boring sometimes as you can only organize the lot so much and after you have unit ready to get swapped you are sometimes left there doing nothing. You are asked to help tech's out but unless you have rv experience it can be hard to do so as most jobs only require one person. The new production manager is a great person and very nice and fits their new position very well. The fix operation manager for service and parts is very nice when work is calm and things are easy going, although; when things start to get busy they do expect to much from people and can get bit rude if you catch them at the wrong time. You will notice that when the fix operation manager is away that work become less stressful as you are not being constantly watched. 
Major complaints I have against Fraserway is that the CEO does not care about the company. Manager have double standards of what they can do and what you are able to do. For example they implemented a no family policy, on multiple occasion through out the company managers have been able to get their family members hired. The general manager of airdrie is weak manger and if you have a problem they dont really care. If a problem arises managers often view the first persons story as the truth and won't listen to other stories. Often times managers will lean towards male side of the story rather than the females if a problem does come up. The ego's of certain people are massive and they can get very unpleasant to be around. 

Working at Fraserway as a CSR has been a rewarding and enjoyable experience. A typical day involves a variety of tasks like; doing check-ins, sometimes helping out with Returns, and in my case helping at the reception desk as well. Occasionally driving to pick up motorhomes from other locations were the highlight of my day (though that's been less frequent lately due to low inventory). This variety keeps the workday interesting and allows me to develop a wide range of skills.

I've learned how to handle different aspects of customer service, improved my multitasking abilities, and become more confident working independently and in a team. The management team is amazing—super chill, approachable, and always cracking jokes that help keep morale high. They're supportive and make you feel like you're part of something, not just another employee.

The workplace culture is positive, friendly, and team-oriented. Everyone helps each other out and genuinely gets along, which makes coming to work something I actually look forward to.

The hardest part of the job is probably when it gets really busy and you're juggling multiple responsibilities at once. But even then, the team is great at pulling together to get everything done.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the people—both coworkers and customers. Every day brings something different, and it’s nice to work in an environment where you feel appreciated and supported.

One of the most serious issues I encountered was the misuse of the Microsoft Teams group chat. What should have been a professional space for collaboration was instead used as a platform for targeted behavior, inappropriate commentary, and conduct that can only be described as cyberbullying. 

At no point was Human Resources present or actively monitoring this communication channel. The absence of HR oversight allowed inappropriate interactions to continue unchecked, with no clear avenue for accountability or intervention. In my professional career, across a wide range of organizations, I have never witnessed a team communication platform being used in such a harmful manner.

The lasting impact of this experience should not be understated. It is imperative that this issue be independently investigated and addressed at a fundamental level. Additionally, the conduct and oversight of supervisors within these channels should be reviewed, as leadership plays a critical role in shaping workplace culture.

I strongly recommend the introduction of mandatory Human Resources oversight in team communication platforms, along with the implementation and enforcement of a clear respectful communication policy. Employees are too afraid to speak up and instead choose to leave which has explained the high turnover.

It depends who you work for and with, and their mood. The further east you work, the less you matter.  Gossip and rumours, goofy behaviour and  lack of appropriate structure and work ethic.  Don’t work there if you cannot handle the language used. swearing, burping, farting, foul language with grandiose narcissist trades, mixed with yelling and crying. No respect for rules, exceptions made due to lack of structure and consequences. Some people like to look away but be the first ones to blame and point their finger. 

Potential is there but it’s a group effort that seems to be unattainable. the currant company philosophy and structure has dramatically decreased since the companies restructuring. Heavy at the top weak at the bottom. 


They got some good people,  they are just stuck in their way and spoiled which can affect the less problematic and entitled people. 

 not much you can do when you are getting controlled by people thousands of kilometres afar that don’t know what they’re doing 



Fraserway RV is a mean employer. Fraserway RV gives minimal wages to employees and squeezes maximum out of them. The timings of when employees enter the premises and when they leave the premises are tracked in Time Login System, which is linked to Payroll System. Unlike many other companies, even nominal 1% annual increments are not given to employees in order to compensate for year-on-year increases in cost of living. Every department has fewer people than required and as a result of that work load is intense. Managers are demanding. Managers are encouraged to be mean and issue warning letters to their direct reports at the drop of a hat. The Owner encourages Managers to use issuance of warning letters as a tool to reprimand their direct reports and keep them in check. The work environment is cult like. It feels like your Manager and Senior Management are constantly keeping a close eye on you, looking for an opportunity to beat you with stick and discipline you.

Fraserway is a great place to work. I felt appreciated and I felt (and was told frequently) that my work helps the company succeed. The atmosphere at my workplace is friendly and generally cheerful. (We are dealing with holidaymakers). My job involves also dealing with the shadow side of RV rentals, dealing with the insurance claims after accidents, but in those cases it is great to be able to bring these situations to a closure. 

It can be very busy in the summer, but once I was settled in my job, I rarely have to do more than a couple of hours overtime per week (which is fairly compensated). So with some smart prioritizing, a healthy work-life balance can be maintained. It is expected that vacations (longer than 3-4 days) are taken outside peak season, which runs from May - September. For me this is no problem.

Management is supportive and helpful when there are troubles. The values of the company align with my personal values, so I felt really at home during my tenure at Fraserway.

In my experiences working 4 years. 
Working on busy season ( Summer) is Extremelly Exosting at the end of the shifts.
Had to say..
Front office have sometimes  the  answers.(  but also clueless) to Majorities!!
And I have to see them very often.
Which lead to wasted time management's.
No computer ,just block notes to keep on track of units.
Not safe with all the water hoses on the floor at the work stations.
Give the rental manager a list of what should be mostly all about safety ideals. 
Promess didn't quite happen.
To consider walking straight shifts to find units on the Huge lots and not much time to help Part timers( Also new staff )!!
Been alone most of the time to get everything done last year.
Also this year they hired part times way to late. 
Working outside in the  big tent with No Door ,windy and sometimes ver cold.
I thought I had a good pay..
Till Our rental manager told everyone they all have the same pay.( Even part-timers who just started)!!
I have work 4 years and felt like a slap in the face.



Manage support while learning the details of the job. Best type of training - base background training then the most effective type - on the spot support as needed. Also periodic training and discussions - weekly during busy season. Great team to work with - such a fun environment. My immediate team all help each other out. All the other teams work well together. Can not say enough about the people - awesome. We all buckle down and get the job done. During busy RV season it can get crazy but again we all support each other and create a great environment for us and our customers - I think they can feel how fun we are having and how much we enjoy RVs and our products. 

A typical day at work was great at the beginning. And then you get paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork, and then get bitched at that your desk is messy and you’re so behind on your work because it’s disorganized. And to make matters worse, most of the office staff in the service dept blabber and gossip all day long which makes it a very toxic work environment. If you think you’re telling someone something in confidence, you absolutely are not. Long term employees are favoured over new hires regardless of experience. Office staff is willing to throw anyone under the bus to get ahead. And when you finally get so upset with the working conditions, and you quit, you will continually be thrown under the bus for years. 

Not a good place management dont have a clue. If your not in the click u will probably be let go. Service manager is an idiot. Thinks he's all that. He likes to bully and like to talk about his staff with other staff members. I was there for a year and tried to get into parts from detailing. Then they hired  someone apparently for a month then moved her to parts. She was only suppose to be temporary but got moved up to parts within that month....they are all phony...sales are the laziest group i have ever seen in my years of working....  the service girls do watever they want but nobody else can. They dont care about any of their  staff at all. I was in detail for a year by myself no help hired during the busy season....just ridiculous.... if ur looking for a job DONT apply here.....
