The company Premier Canada that Del Monte uses to hire people literally hire anyone and everyone who applies because they cannot keep people there long enough. The day time staff get worked to the bone sometimes forced to work double shifts. Managers write you up if you go for your scheduled break if they say "No break". You get 1 break after 4 hours for your lunch and then you're supposed to have a 15 minute break later on but they refuse to give it 9/10 times. Afternoon staff get hired on as "Full-Time" but are often sent home within 3-4 hours and more often than not their shifts get cancelled. On a daily basis there are numerous safety hazards. Pallets standing up at 90 degrees is not only unsafe but illegal without a guard rail and you can find several daily which could fall over and break your ankle as these pallets are wet and frozen. The chute they toss the scraps in go into a the waste room where the attendant has had MULTIPLE broken knives come flying through at high speeds and almost impaled him twice within a week. Management will change your schedule last minute before a stat holiday and forces you to come in on days you cannot (even if its not your regular schedule) and claims you wont get stat pay if you don't. Some employees have been sent home because they had a cigarette on their break and smelled like cigarette (what do you expect its their break and 90% of your employees smoke?). I could list even more things wrong with this place but its not ideal and I do NOT recommend working for these clowns.

A busy day starts with recording cut style of our material with 30 operational tables with 22 to 25 packing crew each table.  Afterwhich,record and count each output of the 33 to 35 operational peeling machines for the computation of hourly efficiency and process rate reports.  At exactly 55 minutes every hour,gather mechanical and operational downtimes from recorders to be reflected on the hourly fruit count form and submits data to the data entry clerk for statistical reports.  Continiously gather minor and major downtimes affecting the operation every hour and records the hourly fruit count submitting all the data hourly to the clerk for encoding purposes.  Shifting schedules every week, but negotiable schedule depending upon the availability of material.
     A very uncomfortable work area, poor ventilation since the workplace is surrounded by motors and machines. It requires active monitoring of downtimes for productivity reports. Seldom may sitdown and rest your feet because you have to monitor all the 35 peeling machines. 
     It is not hard and difficult to learn the job because I am interested to learning things related for my position.  Constant communication with superiors to improve results of efficiency and productivity. 
     I enjoyed dealing,talking and communicating with our co workers especially with regards to efficiency.  Manual labor is required to achieve goals.

Although task rotation should have been incorporated, the job was extremely simple and straightforward. A typical day involved cutting, packaging and weighing different types of fruit. I learned how to safely use a knife in a fast paced production line facility. Both Human Resources and Management were always extremely amiable and seemed to have no issue listening to subordinate's feedback and incorporating said feedback into the workings of the company.

Opportunity for as much overtime as you want I was working around 70 hours every week bringing home 1000 dollars weekly but management is horrible very limited breaks and nowhere to move upwards the only promotion you may ever see is becoming line lead which gets you a million times more responsibility for only a dollar more and they probably wont give you the dollar for like a year lol if you dont care about anything at all and just want to make money I would reccomend it for the overtime but if you want to be treated like a human and care about being respected than no I would not reccomend

Management and general Manager treat employees from contract to del-monte, they give preference to there own people, implemented segregation parking to contract people on one side and del monte on the other side, a job culture that is not even encouraging, rewarding an employees is not within there grasp, they can not promote, they do not review your salary, one of those stop job and go kind thing.

Premier Manages the wprkers  for DelMonte and Premire is very unprofessional. Premier management creates a toxic work enviorment forcing people to work long hours in a 6 day work week and weekends. Paychecks are constantly mixed or short pay up and staff is inexpierenced. Del Monte Management are much more worker friendly. Found many good friends in Del Monte management and workers unfortunately Premire runs workers not Del Monte

THE ONLY STRESSFUL PART, WAS THEY CLOSED THE COMPANY IN 2024 IN OSHAWA,ONT,  I LOVED WORKING THERE!!!

THEY WERE GREAT TO WORK WITH AND VERY CLEAN,ALWAY'S SUPER CLEAN!!!

AWSOME!! NEVER HAD A DULL MOMENT! LOL,ALL GOOD!

i work in del monte phils. since 2007 as a (VLP) voluntary labor pool
position: piler,stocker,feeder and packing.
i was choosen one of the trainees as a machine operator/process technician for the Glass and plasticup lines and also the 115g S.U.P stand up pouch a hyewon machine came from korea. 
then my latest job right now is a lab aide from R&D Dept. Research & Development also from DMPI Company.

A typical day at work includes gearing up due to the fact that the production floor is cold, so to stay warm you would want to layer up. You wear the uniform as goes as well as what you wear underneath .You get placed on a line and follow instructions. I've learned a lot working there, including knife handling skills and learning how to work more fast paced. Most enjoyable part of the job is being able to connect with everyone you work with and build new friendships, which I've done.
