What is the best part of working at the company?
Friendship inn was a very well ran business that focused on helping less fortunate families until the Director changed firing all long time staff that had built relationships with the guest and hired only her religious friends for any position of leadership leading to may people that depended on friendship inn to find a new establishment that focused on truly helping ppl we need help… it’s terrible 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of knowledgeable leadership and experience 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Environment of continuing the oppression of the underprivileged families 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Focused on being a positive role model for all ages including troubled youth

The Friendship Inn is  soup kitchen. With that, of course, comes some challenges with the people you're serving as they are occasionally hard to deal with.

The inn likes to hire people they know and give people the opportunity to work when they might have had trouble finding work elsewhere. Because of that there is a high turnover rate. The turnover is not due to unrealistic expectations. In fact the Friendship Inn is very accommodating.

The hardest part of the job is watching staff leave but the most enjoyable part is making friends. It doesn't take long to build relationships with the staff, even after someone is gone they are still like family.

Find out what the set up for the day is. start news letter doing little pieces daily till it had to go out. Check on different events for the day and evening.
Great management wonderful to work along side.
All cultures, less fortunate Street people Single moms.
After setting up movie night or card games for trophies and the world took off yesterday and made the smiles laughter and problems gone for 1-2 hours no how cool is that.

Having the chance to volunteer at the friendship has been a great learning experience for me. Be able to put forward my skills with food safety and learning to interact with all different people has been a really enjoyable experience I have gained a lot of knowledge Management and staff are amazing, and I genuinely really enjoy volunteering here.

Loved to work here, started off as a volunteer, was offerred paid position. Only on contract for one year. Great atmosphere, comfortable , casual but professional. Helping others was the big theme, I loved it . Multi tasking, always something different, but a reliable routine. Excellent balance. Good people

The staff of the Friendship Inn are hardworking, creative, and compassionate people. They give the Inn that indescribable magic it has. Unfortunately management is not a reflection of its staff. Management is dismissive to the needs and issues of staff, have poor communication on day-to-day changes, and exhibit discriminatory behaviours over guests and staff. 

I learned how to work well with others. I increased my working pace.
Learned to interact with the costumers as i asked them what they wanted to order. I enjoyed  talking to the costumers and serving them their meals. The most hardest part was when was preparing the onions and the made me cry on the first one when i had about fifteen        more to go. It was a safe place where everyone was safe.

Problely the hareds part was when i was in the back making food and people where not doing what they where supposed to do and what i larned is you always need patience to do something right and you need to always push your self to do thing the right way and what i enjoyed the most was making the food and serving the food

It's a great opportunity to volunteer in Friendship Inn, I work as a food server to distribute meals for those poverty people, although I feel sad about their situation, I'm glad I could do something for them to make them get a little better.

i helped make the food. i served it to the people who came in then had some myself at the end of the shift. after that we cleaned up the place. the people volunteering with me were all very nice and thoughtful people.
