Fugro is one of the best companies, well organized, good management, committed and intelligent staffs from the management level to the lowest level. Fugro is committed in achieving her daily target, project as per contract. A company that has so much respect to her clients working so hard even on weekends when needs arises so as to fullfil his promises to her clients.
   Fugro workplace culture contributed so much in building my analytical thinking ability, carefulness in carrying out a work and thinking deep into the project at hand.
   Fugro's consciousness over environmental cleaniness, health and safety issues is very high. Staffs of Fugro are always alert and competence in identifying hazard and closing of hazard leading issues.
   Regular Training of staffs is one of the  habit of Fugro that makes her unique from others. She shows much concerns in the competency of her staffs towards their jobs and provide all necessary information and knowledge for them. Training both in house, organisational and international.
   Salary , health benefits and allowances are  sure and available when necessary.
   I so much enjoy Fugro especially on every Christmas period as Fugro will always celebrate the season, empower the community youths and advice every one on the best attitude.



This company is a part of a very niche industry. Interesting to learn about the industry and the technology associated with it. As a result it takes a while for any new employee to truly contribute in a unique way. However, once that knowledge and skill is developed, you begin to feel like a part of the team.

Majority of the work force is full of very hard working people. So if you find yourself working a little extra, it is nice to know that you are not alone.

Currently the management is in disarray from all the changes that are going on in senior management and the other operation companies that are all under the Fugro name. 

There is a push for "Lean management" in the company. A push for constant improvement. Essentially to be able to do more with less. However, this has not been going over well with the majority of the employees who are more and more feeling like the company is just trying to get away from hiring the resources it needs in order function with more needs.

A typical day will depend on what type of job you are in. It can be a very busy one or a relaxed one. But overall, you will have a variety of experiences while on site. You will meet different types of people with different nationalities. It's exciting to be assigned with new jobs and meet new people.
We work as a team in most of our projects so working with others is almost a routine to me and I find it exciting also.
Every job has its own difficulties. It's up to you how to treat it. For me, everything is part of being a surveyor. It's what we do and it should be enjoyable no matter how hard it is.

Getting started, depending on the department, management likes to push for new employees to get up to speed with what regular employees do in a very short amount of time with an average amount of training. Employees work long hours doing tiring work but get paid very little. Some departments have no workplace culture, since some employees are completely remote and there are rarely any team development activities or group work. Overall a hard and unstable work environment but good place to get some experience if there are no other options 

Work seems meaningless. Management is clueless and does not know how to lead, or motivate a team. Everything is metrics based without any further thought. Compensation is insultingly low. Lots of internal propaganda to lead employees to believe that everything is great, when the company culture is pretty terrible.

Worked for the Fugro in a contracted position. Pay was excellent, however it required me working away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time. While at the job site I would ensure that steel pipe piles were installed to engineering specifications (depth). Work on the project was a 24 hour a day operation and shifts were 12 to 13 hours long.

Fugro has really grown their global culture over the past 5 years. Working with colleagues in other countries is encouraged and opportunities for intercompany transfers is encouraged. Advancement within the company is now a priority and professional development has been made more accessible to all employees. Overall, it is a great place to work.

Good
You can work overtime and come and go as you please (as long as you work min 40 hours).

Bad
People are fake snitches always looking to tattle
The Office Manager only looks at how much you use your phone, not how numerically productive you are. 
Bare minimum pay and benefits.

I worked 60 hour weeks for 2 months (by choice) and was one of the better analysts but was let got for no reason.

Very mediocre work environment. Great place to get your foot in the door for analytics / geospatial work, but they don't appreciate the skill level or experience of their senior employees. 

You can definitely tell that the higher levels of management didn't understand the technical part of the product.  

The resignation of many quality personnel from this company should be setting off alarm bells, but the focus on obtaining ISO certification and bottom line micromanagement will probably result in long term failure unless corrective measures are taken.
