Some reviewers complained that there’s lot of work .. but isn’t that the nature of public accounting? If you wanna work less then maybe public accounting is not for you. Don’t blame the firm for that. We already work less hours relative to bigger firms.

This is a good place to start your public accounting career in a workplace of more than 100 employees. Great exposure to many different types of files in your junior year and progression towards more intermediate tasks in your second year including mentoring juniors and leading more files. Approachable managers, partner interaction may be limited as a newbie depending on your department. 

Pre-approved CPA program in both audut and tax is also a plus. Half day fridays in July and August for summer hours woohoo. Dinner options during busy season could be better though.

My daily tasks and assignments are never the same. In the restructuring and insolvency department at Fuller Landau Group Inc., there are several engagements which require various tasks in time-constrained settings (i.e. Monitoring cash flows and preparing viability assessments of insolvent companies, preparing court reports for CCAA engagements and Receiverships, banking and filing administration). I've learned how to prioritize several tasks under restricted deadlines while performing a high quality service as efficiently as possible. 

Working in small teams empowers me to contribute to the final product or service in a significant way which has been self-rewarding and motivational to complete assignments.

I've been here for almost two years and notice a big difference in how staff are treated, compared to my previous firm. FL goes out of its way to show appreciation for hard work (holiday party, summer event, after-tax season party, smoothie Fridays, massages during tax season, summer hours, casual dress code, etc.). Partners are very open about how the firm is performing (revenue, targets, objectives) - it feels good to know that I contribute to that. Also, great location - lots of restaurants, shopping, and public transit nearby.

The team has been so welcoming since I joined.  There's no weird hierarchy, partners eat with students in the lunchroom and come around to say hello.  The work-life balance is so much better than other firms with only 50 hr/week during busy season, flex time (so it's no big deal that I start my day at 10am), hybrid work (2-3 days in the office) and Fridays off in the summer.  The people are great and there are so many opportunities for learning.

I loved everyone I worked with, truely. Amazing personalities across the board. If I had been paid better I would probably still be there.
My only gripe was that there was no foreseeable chance that I would advance in my career; to add to that, I did not feel challenged any longer.

At least two partners are malicious and extremely moody. They exploit, manipulate and play mind games with their staff. They pretend that you are their best friend one minute and next day give you a silent treatment. They also lie through their teeth. They use ppl and discard. High turnover rate. You would need to see a psychiatrist after working for them. 

Staff are taken care of, partners are approachable, and the firm has a huge focus on culture. If you are looking to kick-start your career in accounting, I would highly recommend FL!

Fuller has different clients from various industries which would provide enough CPA hours for anyone who starts their career in accounting. Generally working paper quality is great and people here are supportive and willing to help. Need to expect long hours during the busy season. 

This was an ideal position for myself.  Although it involved constant vigilance and attention to detail along with very long days, sometimes up to 12 hours, in order to get all tax returns out by deadline, the days passed quickly and the length of employment was short term.

I worked at Fuller for 5 years and it was a wonderful part of my career. There was room for learning and my team was very patient and accommodating. I would go back if I could.
