I've been here since the opening in 2017. Here in Hamilton, it is unlike the western elevators, which you might have read about on some reviews. We have a smaller team here, in comparison to most other facilities in the company, and everyone gets along like a professional team. There are stressful days when things go wrong with the facility but these days turn out to be quite rewarding because we work together to resolve the issues. The starting wages and benefits are very competitive and there is LOTS! of opportunity throughout the company, for advancement. I often describe this as a "sustainable career" because, no matter how hard the economy can be hit, farmers will still grow crops and companies like us will continue to ship the product. Seriously, where else can you have potential opportunity for a well paying career, with great benefits and no experience necessary. All training and certifications are provided and paid for. Work clothing allowances are given. Work wear allowances are given. PPE is all company paid for and supplied to you for no charge. Upper management is professional and attentive yet very empathetic to employees needs. Unlike other companies, they don't look down and their subordinates as inferior. We are all part of the G3 family and we all play an important role.

G3 Hamilton is a great place to work! G3 is an excellent company to work for and they are constantly expanding. A fast growing and developing company. I'm very happy to be a part of the G3 family. Lots of opportunity for growth through out the company. Three years ago I started as an Operation Assistant and, today, I hold the position of Operations Manager. If you have a good work ethic, there are great opportunities. I'm proof of this!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Literally nothing. I enjoyed the first 6 months working here that's it. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Like I said, the first 6 months was pretty good. After working 6 months, co worker started trash talking my family to try to get me to take every bit of overtime after working a month straight of 11 hour per shift midnights accumulating 100 hours banked overtime. Talked to my supervisor about the coworker taking trash about my wife and child in hopes he would do something about it, surprisingly, he didn't do anything at all. Instead, apparently, I went from doing a great job to everything I did was wrong and started getting ignored by my coworkers. All because I found it inappropriate for a coworker (who is a supervisor no less) to be talking trash about my family. I should have knocked him out, probably would have had a better outcome. The work wasn't anything special, it was easy. The horrid Co workers make it a BS place to work. I wouldn't have minded doing more overtime if when I did do overtime I didn't feel like I was being ignored and treated like trash with everything I did. You can't even take your banked time you worked for off. Felt like everyone else was able to take 2 weeks off to like a month or two off, but when I tried, we were short staffed. Had to take my time off a day here and a day there. Was still made to feel like taking time off, even though it was a single day at a time, was an inconvenience. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic. No sense of belonging, they don't care about your wellbeing if you aren't one of the "bros"

Guys were good to work for but management and corporate do not care about employees at all. Terrible attitudes towards workers wanting to move ahead in the company they just hire outside workers when senior jobs were supposed to offered to long time employees. Favouritism amongst staff was a huge thing seen by everyone, certain employees would get away with everything while others would be punished for the smallest issues! Corporate has a terrible attitude towards tradesman not wanting to pay appropriate wages for the trades and have a if you don’t like it quit attitude, they like to state they will just hire contractors to do all the work of needs be instead on paying their long time employees properly they have no issues paying more for contractor workers!


The salary in G3 is average, no competitiveness at all.  If you don't have high expectation, that is a pro.
The management team sucks. Full of political behaviours and lies. The basic thing the managers care about is to secure their position instead of work or employees. Rather than making the company greater they could tell lie or frame people when it doesn't align with their personal benefit. Pretense and wickedness is the name card of most managers. This is a Con.

If you don't care about the development and pandering to people, this is a place to work until retire. If you are ambitious with your career development, this is not a good place to work. Since you will waste your time and chances to work with selfish managers and unqualified colleagues.

Nothing hard about the job, only if you don't have any experience but will soon to learn and quickly adapt to the environment

Management is good, they try to push you to your fullest and be a better worker/person, set goals for you to reach and accomplish by the end of the year.

 You can have more skills than 90% of the individuals. But if you aren't liked by higher ups. They will make it known. You won't be looked at for promotions. When I worked here. I was able to learn as much grading skills as possible. 6 months in and an OA2 position opened up. Was given to an individual who had been there longer than I had. After said individual got the position, they were asking me how to do things. Not to mention. I didn't get a raise, had to drop to one meal a day in order to pay bills. And was inevitably canned. Great company, horrible ops management.

Worked in operations at the Glenlea elevator for 2 years as my first role within the industry. Great way to learn how the ag supply chain works and developing a respect for what goes into feeding our population. Management was very mentoring and helpful, benefits were good. Occasionally hours could be really long but this was usually at the hands of the railways. I wouldn't have left G3 if it weren't for covid putting a halt to career advancement to head office.

Ive worked here for 5+ years and Ive never been more miserable. Thunder Bay staff has to rely on one another for support because management is never around the actual worksite. The only supervisor who actually worked was fired and everything has got worse since. 
Management doesn’t care about people. They only care about making themselves look good while everyone else works 70 hour weeks. 

Starts off as a great company, after your 3 months its a battle everyday. Prepare for a stressful unfair work environment. Pay is OK but that will not be worth the headaches, keep to yourself and you may be fine. You will be taught if you ask hard enough. Don't bother to get to know names, most likely the turn over of people will have you mistaking names. Avoid the drama the management will try to include you on. Lots of OT opportunities was a plus in G3

Management always trying to cut corners and not follow safety rules and regulations. Not following collective agreement. Constant grievances. Managers do not communicate with eachother. Forced to clean up and change after punching out. No communication between shifts. Management are morale killers, making job very unenjoyable.
