I’ve been working with GAO Tek as a co-op intern for over a month, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, I informed my supervisor that I needed documentation and support for my university co-op approval. Initially, she assured me that it wouldn’t be a problem — but that quickly changed.

Without proper communication, I was suddenly shifted to another team. The new supervisor also agreed at first but later refused to cooperate. Despite repeated follow-ups from both me and my university, GAO Tek's management remained unresponsive and indifferent. Weeks passed with no progress, and ultimately, 4–5 weeks of my time were completely wasted.

The way interns are treated is also concerning — we're expected to work long hours for free, with very little guidance or respect. The environment lacks structure, professionalism, and any sense of accountability. I wouldn’t recommend this internship to anyone looking for a meaningful learning experience or professional growth.

On the first day of my internship, the HR assistant assigned me simple tasks quickly completed within 10 minutes. My supervisor informed me that I needed to be patient and wait for 1 to 2 days for proper training. So, I did as they had told me. For five days, I did not have any tasks as an HR intern. It seemed as if I had to figure things out independently (such as Job postings and screenings). There was no communication from my team lead about the process of getting out of training whatsoever. Management is disorganized. Although, they do their best to incorporate rewarding systems and make the workplace a safe space. I didn't enjoy my time there. It seemed unprofessional for an intern like me to be waiting for days for team leads to assign tasks with no communication from management. If you have the patience and can tolerate a lack of communication, then I'd say go for it.
