GARDEN CENTRE

I would open up the Garden Centre, and set up the cash register. I would then clean and water the flowers. I would assist customers and answers any questions they had about types of flowers, what soils to use, how to properly plant flowers. If there were any deliveries I would receive them with a Forklift or a Power Jack. I learned more about the proper maintenance of different plants. My co-workers were easy to get along with and really communicated and worked together ensuring everything was done properly. The management was well done and the manager always made sure everyone was able to get days off that were necessary and made sure everyone was cooperating. The hardest part of the job was cleaning everything up at the end of the day. The most enjoyable part of the day was assisting customers in choosing the perfect colours for their gardens.

A typical day at work would be organizing the flowers by size and types, watering, deadheading, keeping the place tidy, assisting the customers and unloading the shipment of flowers they delivered. I learned a few things about flowers and the process on having to maintain them and I was also taught on cashier. The management from this department was great because of her attitude towards her job made it enjoyable to work there. The hard part about the job was having to help customers on the questions they had with flowers while the manager was away but sometimes I was unable to be an assistance. Although I enjoyed being around the employers since we got along well and joked around a lot.

As a garden centre associate I enjoyed the freedom I had to walk about and organize the merchandise as well as provide customers with advice and assistance. I enjoyed the management because on hot days they would allow us to take more frequent breaks and treated us well. 

I didn't exactly enjoy that there was hard balance between school (at the time I was in high school), work and home life. I was working in two departments at the time and both management teams would schedule me for 4-5 days out of the week so it was difficult to make plans with family and friends outside of work. It was even difficult to focus on my schooling because work took up most of my time.

The day is well divided with timely breaks, Small Coffee Break, Lunch Break followed by another Coffee Break which helps handle the burden of work on your backbone

I learned good values to greet each other(even if you don't know every co-worker) with enthusiasm and smile which boosts your spirit high

Management seems to be co-operative 

The people connect to each other with a kind of retraction due to some burden of workplace

The company policies seem to be weird

Connecting with people, interactions while helping, guiding them, breathing the fresh air among the garden plants, feeling fresh due to the flowers plants around

Mostly like working with lPlants  and all flowers although it cans be very hot outside .
Customers are mostly happy when around flowers.
Learning about the different plants is very useful in many areas of life, as lands are used for man reasons.
It’s good to know which ones are used for what.

Being a part time cashier was great while i was a full time student in high school, but not so much when i wanted to advance towards future goals by furthering my education and buying a home. They gave me some hours but not enough to be able to save up for the amount that i would eventually need for my goals.

TWCC was overall good friendly company with Incentives;Lots of Get together after hours, picnics, social activities; rewarded for excellent attendance

my typical day of work here is facing the soil compound, helping customers and occasionally helping inside the store. I learned that once I find something to do I can stay busy with said thing. I find management to be fairly good.

hard work but fun co-workers were fun to work with 
management was ok the departmant manager was awesome 
hardest part was lifting the bags of soil and mulch
being out side was awesome

Unfortunate the required computer technologies of APP programs, difficult --one must know to prepare.
