I worked remotely from a home office.
GE kept us abreast of industry trends, new standards through excellent on-line training system.

GE Hired me from Colombia as a database specialists and though time I gained expertise and became a Web Developer. The job was fun and loaded with interaction with people in the USA, UK and Australia.
Lost of technical challenges regarding the integration with lab equipment and lots of research to produce ideal solutions to database problems.  It was a very good experience.

Pros:
Truly enjoyed working for GE Healthcare.
Great people, clients, and staff.
Salary and commissions was exceptional.
Chance to travel within Canada regularly.

Cons:
Highly stressful
Sometimes too much travel, hard to maintain family life
Upper management changes too often which effectively changes company focus, sometimes hard to adapt.
Long regulatory processes can affect pay and create loss of sales opportunities.

All in all I think it is good company to work for, it is one of the biggest corporations in the world but it really does feel like working for a smaller company which is a good thing.

There is always training available and you are encouraged to take it to better yourself.  If there is another job in the company you would like to move to it is entirely possible and happens all the time.

most enjoyable part of the job is when your customers thank you for fixing their system and put it back to normal use, hard part is when shipped parts do not make it to site on time and customer temp starts rising .
