Fast paced and growth-oriented. 
Big company with a focus to stay lean and go fast. 
Customer-centric, people/employee centric, leadership centric. 

Learned to prioritize day to day work instead of getting distracted by the tactical day to day activities that may be urgent but aren't top priority on a bigger scheme of things.

Management is great. People are people. Don't expect everyone to be perfect. However, the company's culture is designed to protect everyone and promote/reward hard work, result and high say-do ratios. 

You have to be customer centric, team oriented and dedicated to help the company move the ball forward. 

The most fun part of the job is the freedom to explore and try different things and to fail fast but to grow. 

The hardest part of the job is managing the distractions from too many e-mails from requests coming around the world and getting budgets/approvals to get important things done.

It carries a rich legacy which is its bane at the same time, the company is facing a continuous year on year revenue decline and does not have any concrete plans to overcome but to fire people left right and center. Other than that it's a place where you come, work and go back home nothing in between, parties or team gatherings are unheard of. it's a very top-heavy organization and people have this sense of entitlement... Senior management otherwise is generally receptive. Now for some good stuff there's a gym which is at a subsidized price and that's it.

150 year old company having portfolio spread across engineering , consumer durables, energy  transportation etc.. The company is managed professionally with good work ethics and freedom to work independently. A process driven company.
Your work is recognised and rewarded. Environment, health and Safety aspects are given top importance.

I couldn't really write anything bad that I didn't like about working there. After I had left, I realized that the job I had had, I should never have left. Absolutely loved going to work there. Took a job for the same money about 25mins closer to home and sometimes a little drive to do a job you like is better. If you can get a job here you will not be disappointed.

The Baden office suffers from legacy management and does not reflect the rest of GE's culture and work conditions.

-Management is completely clueless and actively damaging the company's culture.
-co-workers are very multi-cultural

GE Grid Solutions was an excellent company with an outstanding team of highly trained and dedicated professionals.  The team is responsible for all  digital energy deliveries, and marketing for GE Power globally.  The unfortunate downfall of GE around the world has affected the Canadian team, which is now a fraction of what it once was.

Ge Markham doesn’t looks for qualified people to hire. Easy to work . Most of the employees just relaxing.. contractors are hard working. Managers are not qualified. Hiring process is not transparent. Too much politics.. lots of opportunities.. but they don’t hire qualified people.. it’s like an Indian company. hiring manager just obey plant manager..

I enjoyed the challenging assignments assigned to me.

The management was good and result oriented, however, in my situation they gave the opportunity to implement my own engineering research,  solutions, legwork and delivery.

Their culture enabled me to be productive and have closure in my projects.

Company’s future seems bright, culture share is fantasgic but application is ghe opposite. Your manager can make the experience great but also can make it a nightmare....to much for that big comp’ay and name.

Thr company has a great potential but wasted but the high level of politics.
