I had three interviews at GGS.  Was actually excited for the opportunity to work there.  In the first interview the topic of salary expectations came up and I had proposed a fair and reasonable amount that took into account my lack of experience but the role did dictate a lot of skills and requirements to succeed.  

After the third interview I was offered a position but at a salary that would have been just slightly above minimum wage.  There were expectations of long hours, possible weekends etc.  I was then told that that it would be frowned upon to take the job and then ask for more money three months into the job which I took as a major red flag because it sounded like that has happened in the past.  

A couple years later I had met someone else who worked their for a short period of time but had said that they were terrible managers and really milked everyones labour for poor pay.  If you value your mental health I wouldn't work here.  Also, I would encourage anyone going for an interview to reference some of these bad reviews and hear how they justify these allegations.  

Really enjoyed working here for the most part, especially when I would go onto a site that had our products installed.  Seeing exactly what the final product looks like, gives me a sense of satisfaction.

Unfortunately, there was a supervisor that quit, and he was replaced with someone whom I could not see eye to eye with.  He continually asked me how to do things, set ups etc.  So I taught him how to run the division (I ran this division numerous times when the original supervisor was on holidays with out issues).   However, I believe I was a threat to his position and he made sure I lost my job.  
Unfortunately for the company, they are now left with this person whom is continually making errors and costing the company money.  
I would return to this place, but would prefer to either work in a different department and or same with a different supervisor.

It was definitely a good job as a stepping stone but not a good place to stay long term, there is not much room to grow and opportunities to get promoted, management  doesn’t care about employees and constantly lie about raises, did not receive a bonus on the last day since “i was leaving”(even though the bonus was for the work throughout the whole year) and they would do anything possible to get away with the cheapest option for the employees . Other than that I learned a lot about the industry with my supervisor and department which was the good thing.

Management treats you like an individual, can sometimes come across tough but fair.  I like the people I work with. There is a little inter department stress though that would be nice to be more collaborative on.  My ideas matter which is nicer than other places I have worked.

There are some terrific people who were at this plant. However, upper management is detached from what is happening on the floor. There is a definitive lack of support or empathy. Unfortunately a lot of this company is run on belittling labourers and I hope that is something they work to improve upon in their future. Your position in this company dictates the level of respect you are treated with; Ex. Production versus working in an office setting. 

I liked working at GGS I was always given a chance to do more.  Owners are frendly and family approach. Treat you like a person not a number. Some people are negative, normally it is the people who are not doing what they are supposed to do.  Would like more training  chances.

Hours are 8am-5pm. The culture is unhealthy. Management cares nothing about the employees on any level. The turnover rate is ridiculous. There was a time when shop workers will walk out in the middle of shift. The company is always hiring and looking for help. If you go in then you would understand why. Never seen anything like it.

I love the team I work with. Good humor everyone gets along.  Hours are great with only day shift. Safety meetings every day. Steel work is heavy lifting so I am tired at end of day. Would like more lift assist. But lots of different jobs. This is never boring I get to move around and run different machines. 

We got big wage bumps this year. People always complain about pay but I think it is fair now. Work has improved now that complainers are gone. We don't want people who don't show up to work every day. Company tries to do good things like free lunches and gas cards.  Company tries to reward good work.

did the same thing every day and it got very boring, very quickly and soon after started dreading going to work. never learned anything and management was always pushing people to go faster no matter what,
