A typical day at Globo during my shifts included being on the floor, talking to customers about the shoes and shoe care, rearranging and tidying up any messy bunkers and ensuring that customers felt that the shoes that they were walking out with, fit like a glove. I've learned several key parts of the job, like shoe conversions and different textiles/materials of shoes. These skills were improved and taught by several of my co-workers, especially dealing with the cash register, training and selling shoe care. Management although very friendly, produced several problems and brought a sort of laziness and petty attitude to the team as a whole. As people, they were great but the overall communication between co-worker to employer was never there and was made difficult by assuming a too friendly work relationship. The hardest part of the job would definitely be dealing with angry customers in a professional manner, but was dealt with very calmly and produced positive outcomes a majority of the time. The most enjoyable part though, would be without a doubt my co-workers and the friendships outside of work that have been formed by working at Globo. Walking into and out of the store pretty regularly, was made into a greater atmosphere by the people who worked alongside me and provided several different resources and information.

A typical day at work includes answering customers' questions and concerns about shoes, consulting with them about size, fulfilling orders and shipping, receiving stock and bringing it out to the floor, keeping floor organized. I learned a lot about cashiering, as that was a skill I had seldom used in jobs prior. There was a lack of enthusiasm from management (which was very sparse to begin with), with very little training and almost no personal support. Manager would tell me about projects that needed to be complete as I'm clocking out for the day (they didn't even train me even after mentioning there would be full and complete training, I might add). No one was happy there and everyone agreed that communication was almost non-existent. After being hired, I essentially relied on instinct to help the store survive. It was made 10x harder by being the only full-timer in the whole store. Communication itself was the hardest aspect, and the easiest was being alone picking orders, oddly enough. I thank them for what I did learn about cash, however, but I would advise those interested to keep looking for jobs where you are actually appreciated as an employee and a person.

If competing to get numbers is your thing, not commission based or a pay raise, by all means, join this company. I really don't like how they look down on you when you don't meet your goals and pressure you even if you're trying your best. You don't even get recognized by the hard work you put in, only reprimanded for the other things you're trying your hardest to work at. I personally snapped and could not take it when i was being constantly pressured every sale, every evening about my numbers. I don't get a raise to care, and the numbers don't get me commission. Just a "Yay, great job! Keep it up!".... that's it. I don't live and pay bills through "yays" and "nice jobs", and if i'm going to be constantly grilled to pressure clients into buying things they don't want to, while simultaneously being looked down on for not making my stats better, then i'm not for it. The employee discount is only good when the manager is there and only at your home store. Other than that, i don't see anything that would keep you in this company. 

During a typical day at work, I help customers to find the shoes sizes they are looking for in the style of shoe they prefer. I recommend shoe care products for them to use on the shoe they are interested in. I check out customers using the electronic cash register and also help answer any questions they may have about return policies and ordering shoes. I help to clean and maintain the store by dusting and sweeping as well as fixing displays and organizing shoe boxes accordingly. I learned how to deal with difficult customers and how to communicate with them no matter what their background or personality was like. Management at Globo is very helpful and supportive of all their employees. The workplace culture is easy going and everyone who works there is very friendly towards each other. The hardest part of the job is finding something to do to keep busy when the store is not busy and full of customers. The most enjoyable part of the job is definitely getting to meet and socialize with new people all day long.

I have a sales budget I must meet, so as soon as my shift begins I check what it is and write it down to ensure I have met the standards. I always help customers when needed no matter how long it may take. Ensure all displays are neat and put away any shoes left laying around. 

Each day I learn how to talk to customers and what approach works best and how to deal with certain personalities. 

Manager is very friendly and is flexible around schedules. 

Co-workers are all very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Everyone works as a team rather than individually. 

The hardest part of my job is trying to meet the sales budget on a slow day. This affects my club elite standings, which is a competition with all Globo, Aldo and Spring locations. 

The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting new people.

A typical day at work is well spent on the sales floor taking in customer requests and assisting them finding the shoes they need.
I learned how to up sale on customers and promote daily sales.
Globo Shoes is management team was great if I can come back to the Aldo Group at any location if accepted I would just because I do need a second job now because, of the availability I have open.
Co Workers were kind and great full I was able to make great work friends and still remain focus in the work field.
At first the hardest part of the job was probably going around and making sure you get to all the customers on the floor before anyone else does. In the Aldo Group you learn to be shy at first then more open. 
The most enjoyable part was getting to know a lot about the company within a short period of time.

I learned a lot about customer service and how to address clientele. I learned how to deal with a lot of issues and come to fair but just solutions. I acquired many problem solving skills.
We had a great team to work with, which made the job bearable. Our staff was well chosen and got along really nicely, which made the environment a pleasurable one. 
The hardest part of the job was keeping each and every client satisfied. Figuring out the best solution for both the store and the client. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was placing stock and making the store look presentable. Getting to see new shoe models, new seasons, and the latest fashion trends.

The job overall is pretty good, especially if you are somebody who is into shoes (men's or women's), accessories.
Staff is great to work with and makes the job that much better. 
Although unnecessary pressure by management to push sales and meet unreasonable quotas to sell shoe accessories, cleaners, insoles, and protectors in which the vast majority do not want to buy ruins part of the experience being an employee at Globo Shoes.

It all depends on which store you work at but at my location the manager when I first started was amazing and nice and really understanding but at the last few months of my employment she was inconsiderate, demeaning and when I tried to call in sick one time she tried to make me come in when I explained I had a bacterial infection and I was contagious and uncomfortable with coming in and risk spreading it

Much like any other retail store, Globo is also very fast paced and high stress environment. However, the staff is friendly from the very senior member down to the part-timers which makes the work place laid back and fun environment. Working at Globo will teach you many skill sets that can be an asset for future jobs such as multitasking and time management. I would recommend Globo to anyone who wants to work in a fun and friendly environment but also recommend to be prepared to handle high rush times.
