Growing pains gets tossed around a lot.

Workload is ever increasing as people leave for better pay and more established companies. This results in a viscious cycle of turnover, increased workload on the remaining employees and burnout as new people are (slowly) brought on. This review is specific to claims.

Lots of forward looking talk but action backing up the talk is severe lacking. Bright looking future if leadership can start to deliver and move from being reactive to proactive for a change.

Pay is lower than the industry, new people are brought in at a premium and those who've stuck around are left making less.

Work days are extremely long & never long enough to get all your expected work completed. Even working extra unpaid hours that is unappreciated. Management used to care about hard working dependable staff but that is no longer the case. Hardest part is being told doors are always open & management will listen but they never make things better only harder & worse for staff. Most enjoyable part of the day was when I finally got to go home which was usually way past when I should have been able to leave at the end of the day!

While the job itself really seemed exciting, the culture was one that discouraged collaboration and innovation and promoted competition and a feeling of inadequacy. Work/life balance was completely non-existent and disapproval was evident when personal time was taken. Employees are isolated and unable to address issues as there is a clear and visible hierarchical line between leaders and those that are not. They did pay me well, though. 

They don't pay industry standard
They don't care about your future
They burn people out and then blame them for it 
You are not set up for success
They talk about doing good and doing right by thier customers and brokers, and just fall totally flat when it comes to thier employees 



What is the best part of working at the company?
There is and was no benefit working there. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are far to many items to just limit it to just one. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
People are mostly friendly, work culture is not one that I would recommend.

Worst job I ever had.  Unethical management that have no consideration for people.  There is no thought for employees.   It is an extremely toxic environment with a leadership team that dictates from a high, lies to employees and treats people like they are disposable.  This is a place that I warn people to stay away from.  

Great supervisors with an open door who were always willing to help & coach, which fostered an overall collaborative environment & a positive, welcoming atmosphere for new hires. 

Please see the earlier section of this application. My Fellowship required many University courses and Insurance Bureau of Canada courses. I enjoyed managing people, staff, and claims of insured clients to enable them to recover from losses

Great place to work. Great people. Some senior executives are entirely incompetent. Culture is generally participative and people are nice. Too bad the most senior leadership are destroying the organization.

not the same place it used to be.  continual increased demands of the job with and increase in volume of work remaining the same.  appears the vision of growth for the company is not taking in to consideration staffing levels and with growth you need more staff in ALL areas.
