GoTraffic Management was definitely the best outta the flagging company I've worked for. Every job has its ups and downs. The coworkers are amazing, and the office wants to help when they can. But it definitely hectic. There's no real schedule to your day. You could go out for a 6hr day, and it becomes a 10 hour day. There was communication issues between dispatch and the employees sometimes. But thats expected with crazy schedules. 

If you like different scenery every day, and meeting new people and crews. It definitely keeps you on your toes. I enjoyed the fast-pace environment. Met alot of amazing people. Learned to be a lot more attentive to the world around me. 
Good money for easy work*. (*Easy if you have common sense, and have experience driving)

Hardest part of the job is worrying about people hitting you, because they are distracted by their phone. I had some close calls, but as long as you're prepared, you can keep yourself safe. Also making plans. I never knew when my day was going to be done. Always first one there, last one to go. So it was hard to make plans, because i was working late, or I was exhausted.

Overall, it is a pretty good job, for the money. Definitely stressful, but it has really good days, that balance it out.

If you pass the two day certification course for flagging, GoTraffic/Universal will hire you on the spot. No interview. Typical day usually show up with no idea what is happening that day, figure it out from the crew and get going. I learned all i could about dealing with drivers and the rules of the road and whatnot.Best to have a thick skin because a lot of the management (on the road, less so in the office) tend to be rough around the edges, or just plain confrontational. A lot of LCT's let the power go to their head.
Hardest part of the job- not knowing how long each day will be, sometimes as long as 16 hours (legal limit). Standing in the same spot for 12+ hours, often eating lunch without a break and squeezing in bathroom breaks when possible.
Best part? Decent wage. Really good overtime benefits. Straight time for 8 hours, time and a half for the next three, and dbl time after that. Time and a half right off the bat on saturdays, and double time straight off the bat on sundays.

This company atmosphere is very upbeat but still very professional.  If drive and ambition is shown along with a good work ethic there is plenty of room for advancement and new learning experiances.  The people that work there are great and the management is fairly easy to talk to and encourage family and work life balance.
Everyone you meet doing this job is friendly and helpful.

There is a lot of warmth in the management at GO Traffic. They are approachable and understanding, they possess empathy over being punitive which is an asset.  The schedule is flexible, pay is as good as an employer can keep up with inflation. The work is fun, grueling at times. Worker support is abundant. I can't say enough good things about GO Traffic. I would highly recommend working for them.

You are just a number. The only thing the company cares about is making money. Yes, they have all the trappings of a good company. They do this because there is a high turnover rate. Management manipulates the senority list. Dispatch plays games. Hours are inconsistent. You will not see a 40 hour work weak. Lots of other traffic control companies on the island. Consider it a short term gig until you can find something better.

Good, good benefits, no screws up in pay.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Usually 7- 3 depending on who I was working for.

Stay away from the office as much as possible.  Working for GoTraffic has been fun until I got run over by a car 6 months ago and the HSO and the office have been nothing but trouble for me.

Very good place to work, it’s nice to work for a company that has your back and provides you with anything and everything you would need. Benefits are a huge plus, not very many companies here give benefits.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There was no good part. To much favouritism in the company. They don’t want to repair there trucks. So I retired from the job

Not listening to the employees needs

I have been in the traffic control industry for a long time and this is by far the best company. You are treated like you are part of the team and not just that extra body to fill the job.
