GRACE VILLA

The home is a disaster. The ED does not leave the office nor does DOC. Both are barely in the home they spend more time out of the home than in. The ED spends more time on her phone then she does work. They cause the management team a lot of stress and if you do not follow what they think they will fire you to ensure no one knows what truly goes on. The head two of the home see the LTC home as a business and not a home. They only care about money and not about residents' well-being. You will have no guidance working here! We have new leaders in their roles and have no real training and get thrown into other roles when the upper two leaders are off or working from home. The workplace culture is not good at all! No support from managers. 

It's an easy going workplace where you'll be able to make connections with the residents, the employees, and the visitors. As time passes, you'll learn that each resident is pleasantly entertaining, and respectable despite all their differences and disabilities. It's a great workplace where you'll learn how individual roles play a great part in their lives.

I did not really enjoying doing co-op at Grace Villa. The staff was not helping, never around when you needed them. The typical day at work was long, and sometimes there was nothing to do. The management was alright. Most of the co-workers were nice, others were nasty. The hardest part of the job was not having help when needed. I did not enjoy the most of it, other than getting to know the residents and being able to bond with them.

Assisting with activities and then running exercise class by myself.
Management cheering at my efforts while the staff supervises.
Having to do a presentation.
Having to work with a specific client on a specific goal and seeing the results of how the intervention worked.

My first job as an registered nurse. Don't recommend as a long term job unless you want to work in a nursing home. Staffing always an issue. 1 RPN for 40-60 residents for a single medication pass not great.

Very stressful,very busy,heavy work,management does not work with staff.The hardest part of the job ,you are always working short.The most enjoyable is the residents.

Hostile working environment with co workers. Not a safe environment for residents or PSW'S. (Physically or emotionally)Management holds no accountability for their role in unsafe practice and procedures. 

This is not a place you want to work if you want any sort of teamwork atmosphere or advancement in your career. They hold people back, their head office is very absent from the Home and they are not open to communication from staff.

Great learning environment, includes locked units and palliative and wound care, no nursing skills such as IV administration or IV management. Overall good

I only worked at grace villa for about 2 months 2 days a week. i liked it alot unfortunatly i had to go because it was only a coop for school. I would have loved a job there.
