Got hired on the spot after handing in an application was told I’d be a technician working in the shop yet was told to put my toolbox in the quick service bay. That was the first problem here as they didn’t trust a technician with almost 10 years experience that can do everything but to only do oil changes and quick services. Not a place to start out or to be if you’re looking for automotive service experience.
Work here is nonexistent even during busy season, you’ll be stuck cleaning the shop and service area as the manager does not like anybody to be standing around. Service team acts as it’s everyone for themselves. Service manager also is very shady and does not say a single word to most of the hourly employees very bad look on a service manager. Would not recommend working here if your trying to get hours being a licensed automotive technician or apprentice. 

The only nice thing I can say about this place is that the technicians, parts advisor, sales guys and admin ladies are wonderful to work with. But unfortunately the service department will make you feel like you are internally dying little by little each day. This department is poorly managed and the manager treats everyone like little puppets. I wanted to like this place.. truly, but I could not stand to work at a place that treated employees and customers as if they are garbage. There is little training offered and everyone freaks out and acts as if a little mistake is the end of the world. Please do yourself a favor and never ever take a job from the service/parts department.

This workplace is a dead end job for anybody looking to get into the automotive trade. The best part about my time here was that I gained enough experience to go somewhere that actually accelerated my career. However it was not made easy through the false promises and spineless management. I will never suggest anybody work here unless you want to be treated like you don’t matter and want to be given nothing in return for your hard work. Have fun watching your fellow employees get demoted and being told that you don’t matter. The only thing I didn’t have to get worried about was being fired as this place seems to not get rid of anybody, they just force them to quit. Never again.

I have worked at Greg Vann Nissan for over 5 years now and I have had a blast! I have received multiple raises and incentives for my hard work and dedication and have received a few promotions in my time being here as well! The other staff here are amazing and very easy to work with and get along with. Greg Vann himself cares a lot about his employees and will go out of his way to make sure everything is ok whether it be work related or personal. All around it is a great place to work, its like my second home and everyone treats you like family.

Greg Vann Nissan was a great place for me to work. I didn't have too much experience in the automotive sector but they took a chance on me anyway. I learned so much from the service department and parts department. I'm forever grateful for my time at Greg Vann Nissan. I ended up having to move out of province so sadly I had to leave. But the experience I gained from working here helped me land a great Job in BC. If you have the opportunity to work here you should take it.

The respect work/family balance

The service manager cant make up his mind on what he expects of you but then wants you to anticipate his expectations 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Dont over work yourself. If they feel too busy they will stop booking.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Slow, disapointing and a lack of self autonomy

I worked as a lube technician with hopes to one day be offered an apprenticeship, even though I saw countless employees hope for the same thing but they all were made false promises and quit. Well, same thing happened to me. If you look to have a career as an Automotive tech, this is not the place for you. Management is horrible and will always be breathing down your back. Raises are non existing too.

Most of the staff are very nice

Not have a lot of hours. They is not a lot of work to do 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very helpful and kind and willing to learn

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clean showroom and make sure coffee machine full and get the grass cut and also make sure cars are locked

From being a mechanic apprentice for 3 years to being a service advisor for the last 8 months, it is a good place to work, friendly staff, flexable shedule. My Co- workers have become good freinds of mine over the years, i have learened many things over the years as far as information on cars to working in the customer service world. the most rewarding part of my day is having a customer leave with a smile from a satisfied service.

Everyone gets along so well. It's a great atmosphere to work in. Hard work is always rewarded and management is always available to assist fellow team members.  Cross training in other positions is available as well so I was able to find out what department and position best suited me. There is room to grow and succeed.
