You'll learn how to deal with the Brain injury clients. Cook their meals,  assisting or guiding them in their everyday task. Doing the housekeeping too is one of your work. Administering medication and documentation of the clients behavior or any unusual things that  might occur. Mostly, clients were English speakers, majority Caucasian.The hardest part of this job is when one of them sneaked out, and you have no idea where they would be. Another one, when they agitate or become violent.

•	Provided support in every aspects of the lives of people with intellectual disabilities
•	Helped clients in achieving the best possible essential safeguards, quality of life, personal growth and natural relationships
•	Administered oral medications as per instructions when required
•	Filled out reports to describe daily activities et clients’ behaviour

come into work prepare a fulfilled day on outings, programs and plan around, distribute medication, prepare meals that have no sugar or is for each individuals diet and make sure we have things done on schedule so it does not interrupt lifestyles. working with mentally challenged children.

Working with the children is rewarding in itself, the joy and excitement in activities and outings they would not normally get to do. To this day I am still in contact with a few of the kids I have worked with in the past. It is a joy to see how they have grown and moved on into adult life. Very, very rewarding.

did shift work and always had new workers to fill shifts, became a supervisor of one client with mental disorder whom needed constant attention, went on outings and did some teaching techniques.

Working in a group home is stressful since your working with children. The work atmosphere is hectic. You need so many training to deal with everyday thing such as their schooling and their additudes. The co workers are very supportive, but the supervisors and management are not.

Working in a group home can be both rewarding and stressful. A typical day starts with assisting with the activities of daily living. Many of the clients that I worked with attended a Day program which I had the opportunity to work in as well as residential care.
